Hi everyone.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good freeware programs to fit my needs. I am looking for a good CPR program and a good sign language program for my clie T615C. Can anyone help me?
thank you much in advance.

I would suggest you do searches on PalmGear.com, Handango.com, ZDNet (for Palm), and Freewarepalm.com. Beware that the last one supports/allows spyware ads. With the proper Internet security you should be OK, but if you are in doubt, don't go there! Good luck in your search! :)

Don't forget about www.sourceforge.net !! Some really great open source programs are being made by some really smart people, and you can get them free from sourceforge. Brian

John:

You mentioned that freeawrePalm supports spyware, how do you know. I'm using Ad-aware program to scan my computer every few days and I consistantly find new spyware, do you know maybe a website where there might be more information on what website supports spyware?

I know this is really not a Clie related question but I feel knowing more about spyware is in everyone's interest.

Thanks!

This site has a free download for an American Sign Language program. It looks like if you want more features, you'll have to pay. Enjoy.

Thank you very much for the info on the american sign language program. I appreciate it.

Now about the spyware, I think "SPYWAREBLASTER" is a far better program than ADAWARE because ADAWARE has not had any updates in quite some time and they don't even know when they will have any. Spywareblaster won't let the spyware load onto the computer to begin with.

I disagree with your assessment of Adaware. They, in fact, have a completely new version out (v6) that has built in updatable signature files. I use both Adaware and SpyBot S&D and both products catch entries the other missed.:) Both seem to do a pretty through job of keeping my system spyware free (I hope).

Sorry for being off topic, but these are both freeware, they just won run on a Clie.

Use Mozilla/MozillaMail if you need a replacement for your IE /Outlook Express Combo or keep Outlook and just replace IE by Mozilla Firebird- It's fast, it's compatible, it's full of nice features and it's secure. No Spyware for me.

Spyware blaster & spyware Guard are, in my humble opinion, the best and up to date programs available to scan, delete and protect your PC from spyware. I've tried many titles and these are the ones who make the job simpler, better and definitely SAFE!!

Why remove them, when you can keep them from entering in the first place? MS IE is a bunch of security issues with an interface.

If you care for some serious speed and security use Opera
If you care for features and security (speed is about the same as IE) use Mozilla
