Which would be the ideal WIFI solution for My Peg-nx70v??????
I have a very tight budget!!!
It seems like not so many bought the Hagiwara MS wifi.

In terms of the following:

1, Price
2, Functionality
3, Range
4, Reliability

I've ignored the release of the H MS Wifi...

I was ABLE to purchase a WL100 for $22.
Works great and surfing speeds are nice...

BUT In my mind there is one flaw (sony's shortsightedness) it takes the place of the MS.
With the WL100 I still have my MS in the slot so that I can run programs (mail, surfing, aim, etc.) from them.

Have you invested (time/$$$, effort) in configuring your CF slot? Meaning to work as close as possible to your MS? If you have and can get the MS Wifi at a decent price, then I'd say sure get it... but US NX70 users always have to be conscious of the 11mb RAM (and the additional 6MB if you use jackflash)...

Perhaps OTHERS that actually have the MS Wifi can provide MORE insight (i can only describe my CF Wifi experience... which has been great so far)

BTW I have use the CF-Enable s/w but I do so because in my case, I found the BT MS better investment for me...

Pertaining to your 1st question, it really depends on you. If you thank that maybe someday you will want to upgrade to another Clie with out built in Wifi, but without the CF slot, get the MS Wifi. If you think you will be keeping your nx70 or upgrading to the 80 like I did with my 60, get the WL100/110.

No as far as choosing which one of the CF wifi's to go with, I would personally go for the WL100. One of the really cool things about the WL100 is that you can use it as a wifi card on Windows PCs. It's an Intel based chipset.

Which brings me to your 4th option. There aren't too many WL100 or 110s floating around. What I did was I bought an Intel Pro/Wireless 2011B LAN CF Card. It is the same exact thing as a WL100. I got it on ebay for $70 shipping included. IF you want I can post a picture of what it looks like.

Your 2nd question was pertaining to Jackflash. It doesn't really add Ram to your NX60/70/73/80. What it does is it allows you to put programs into the Flash memory of the PDA. On the NX60/70 there is only 6MB of free flash ram. On the NX73/80 there is 15.5MB of free flash ram. Jackflash is a great program. You can get it at JackFlash (http://www.brayder.com/products/jackflash.html)

Hope this helps,

Rafster

The drivers on the sony site: http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/
Click on Clie Handhelds and follow the prompts... and look for the s/w for WL100.

Wow, nice find...

Great find. Basically what you need to do is find he drivers for the WL100. You can try what the previous post said, or this is where I went for my NX60:
WL100 Drivers (http://leggnet.com/clie/Clie%20WIFI%20drivers%201.0%20(WL100_enUS).prc)
And you will also need some sort of web browser, I would recomend Netfront V3.0/3.1

Peace,

Rafster

i cannot say something bout the cf-thing. i own this hagiwara thing and it does its job as expected. no prob so far. i heared there is no "sniffer" for the cf one. the hagiwara at least brings one that shows all WLAN around you with their ssid-name. but its very basic one.

There is only one word to explain this "Intel Pro/Wireless 2011B LAN CF Card" wifi card. "PERFECT".

I was very surprise when i tried this wifi card for the first time, it works perfectly even though i don't even have a Wireless Router!
**Must be our neighbors who have one!**
The range of this Wifi card is excellent!
It works with the WL100 Driver flawlessly and smoothly!

I have one question though!

Anyone knows a "WIFI SNIFFER" For Sony Peg-nx70v?

Do a search.

The answer is "no."

How lucky are you... that there is an Open Access Point WHERE you live?
Wow... and what a poor job that person did to close their AP. o_O

No, unfortunately, it will not work with the 73/80 and you can't always trust a search. See my woes in this thread http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70007
