Recently my UX-50 began intermittently failing to recover from Powersave mode, and locked up. Eventually, I carried out a hard reset.
Immediately following the hard reset the Clie would no longer hotsync wirelessly with my desktop PC. Hotsyncing by wireless had never previously been a problem.
When I try to hotsync by wireless, the desktop no longer responds, and eventually the hotsync times out. Wireless hotsync appears to cause my desktop PC to try to access a remote machine with an IP address that is the reverse of the local IP address of my PC - my PC's local IP address is 192.168.0.1, and hotsync provokes an attempt by the desktop to access address 1.0.168.192.
The Clie still communicates wirelessly with the desktop quite happily. I can use the Clie's browser to access files on the desktop via Apache.
I have checked and double checked all the settings on the Clie. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Palm Desktop for Clie software, including the Hotsync software, to no avail.
I have tried disabling ZoneAlarm and Norton Antivirus on my desktop in case they had somehow started to interfere with hotsync, but it made no difference.
Any suggestions would be welcomed!
