Why would I want to install a launcher on my TG50, Im thinking of zlauncher??
What are the benefits except a nice looking background?
It seems like PiDirect II does not register/find any programs (even though i moved them in the pidirect directory) to run off the memoery stick, any help?

I suppose it's the flexibility and added features over the standard launcher. Plus ZLauncher (and others) have built-in file managers. Many people go the simple route and don't bother with an added launcher. Try one or more and decide for yourself.
Sorry I can't answer the PiDirect question as I use MSMount.

Neither PiDirect or MSMount are OS5 compatible. PowerRun is and does basically the same thing. As for launchers, I don't know what the capabilities are of the default launcher for the TG50, but earlier default launchers didn't allow categorizing apps stored on MS, they were all lumped into one huge category. Some launchers offer superior file management capabilities and other useful utilities. Like bobbd said, just try a few and see how you like them.
