Hi all!
I own a T425 along with a PEGA-SA10 Audio-Adapter to listen to MP3s. I am using a 128MB Memory Stick from Hagiwara as MP3-Filestorage.
When I try to play MP3s with a higher bitrate than 128kBit (constant bitrate) the songs start to skip. Even VBR at 160KBit average rate starts to skip, 192Kbit is almost like an "Audio-Slideshow". MP3Files with a constant bitrate of 128KBit or below play without problems.
Obviously the issue is something about "speed". But who is responsible?
1. Memory Stick
Is it possible, that the data-transfer-rate of my Hagiwara Memory Stick is too slow? The skipping during playback occurs simultaneously to the blink of the MS-Acces diode. When I copy files from Desktop-PC to the mounted Memory Stick via USB1.1 Connection and MS Import the speed is about 114KByte/s ( ~ 6,7 MB/s) (write to MS) and 126KByte/s ( ~ 7,4 MB/s) (read from MS). But maybe these speeds vary depending on the type of read. I don't know.
2. Clie CPU
Maybe the CPU of the Clie which runs at 33Mhz is too slow for Playback above 128KBit ??
3. ...
I would be happy if anyone could send me experiences with the MP3-Playback on an T425 or T415 or other Devices running at 33Mhz but not having a built-in DSP for MP3 processing.
ThX in advance!
