I've had a Palm IIIx for several years and I just purchased an SJ33...should be getting it on Tuesday! Can't wait for the color hi-rez, speed, jog dial and everything else. Here's my stupid question: What does "Clie" mean?
Thanks for all the great info I've getting from this forum.

It's just a product name.

It is an invented (probably computer generated) word like Lexus. Since most of the English words are, by now, trademarked, companies resorted to creating new words to name their products.

"Create Lifestyle with Innovation and Emotion"

It says so on the Sony site.

Since when is "Emotion" spelt with acute accent on the "E"? :D

That is what is know as a retronym-- a word is selected and then each letter in the word is given a meaning.

I saw a while back that it also stood for Communication, Link, Information and Entertainment. But I like the "Create Lifestyle with Innovation and Emotion" better.

I always thought it was for "Communication, Link, Information and Entertainment" too. I saw that on the Sony site long ago (okay, long ago in "Sony Time" - "2 months ago" for the rest of us...)

It was Communicaton Link for Information and Entertainment for the first couple of years. About the time the NR came out they changed it.
