Hey Clie Gang,
I would like to record PRIME TIME TV onto my Memory Stick. I remember a while back that Sony had a VCR device. I can't seem to find any of those. I have seen the threads about how to record DVD's to MS but that is probably advanced for me. So, is there a download program/ website/ or other device that records directly from the TV to MS. I have a SONY VIO PCG-FRV27 with a dvd/cd burner and memory stick drive.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

You can always check Ebay for the Sony Clie PEGA-VR100K video recorder. Its price remains around $300 (unfortunately).

IMHO, it's preferable if you stay with your VAIO computer video recording software. I bought a Sony Vaio PCV-RZ14G a couple months back, and I haven't tried yet to record any TV. I do know that my VAIO uses Gigapocket which allows you to export movies to your Clie (once you install the Gigapocket module that comes on the Clie installation CD).

It might be a longer process but it doesn't fall under the restrictions of the VR100K since it will not record copy-protected materials which includes premium channels such as HBO and commercially sold VHS and DVD movies.

There is a review at http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/tips/Clie_Video_recorder.htm

Hope this helps...
