I'm having problems with Outlook setup on my new T5 too: It ran fine the first time, then I installed other software, then Calendar got polluted with duplicates for some reason. I fixed that by restoring a backed up version of outlook.pst and now HotSync freezes on the desktop during or after syncing Calendar, and does not proceed to Tasks, Contacts and Memo. When I disable all 8 PIM conduits in HotSync, HS proceeds fine. I uninstalled the T5 palmOne desktop and reinstalled it, but the probem persists. Still trying to figure out where the problem(s) lie(s).

Well I had sync problems with my T3 before - stuck at the Calendar syncing stage. Overcame it by syncing the Calnder conduit with Desktop overwrites Handheld.

i put the options to "Handheld overwrites Desktop" ('cause this fits better for me) and it still does not work :-(

Here is my latest attempt to get the T5 syncing with Outlook.
1. Rebooted the desktop computer.
2. Ran Scanpst.exe on outlook.pst (minor errors only).
3. Set the Outlook conduits to Desktop overwrites Handheld.
4. Did a warm reset/soft reset on the T5.
5. Pressed Hotsync button on the T5 connector.
6. HotSync ran, until it encountered the Calendar conduit. Then at some point there HS crashed on the desktop (report sent to Microsoft), and the handheld reported that HotSync operation was interrupted.
Here is the log section:

I fixed mine!! (Hopefully). Over on Brighthand there are a few threads touching on this poorly documented but not rare problem. What little information there is points to a "problem" in the user's outlook.pst file. Nobody knows exactly what is going on yet, but palmOne is working on it. I renamed mine to outlook hidden.pst and then restarted Outlook. Outlook created a blank outlook.pst file. I copied the past year of Calendar entries from the orginal file to the new one. HotSync proceeded without a hitch, for the first time in a week. I am copying the tasks, memos, contacts and emails back from the old file to this new one now. Results in a slimmer, trimmer outlook.pst file anyway. I hadn't cleaned mine out since I started it 6 years ago. It had bloated to 0.2 GB.
So perhaps others can assume that outlook.pst is somehow "corrupted" and rebuild a new one.

One thing to try before rebuilding outlook.pst: look for recurring events that have "No End" date, and change that to a specific date say 10 years out. There was a problem in past Palm HotSync/Outlook discussions with this issue, over the years. I think I encountered some of it too, when I was troubleshooting my way through this a couple of weeks ago, and either deleted those entries, or changed the end date.

I managed to synchronize with outlook 2003, but although I have specified one account, emails from both accounts I have in outlook are imported. It should only import the ones for the account I have set up.
Any suggestions...?
