Just get the setup file for the Plucker desktop. The links to Plucker desktop are located just underneath the Distiller on the Plucker download page:

http://www.plkr.org/dl

Plucker Desktop

Plucker Desktop is a graphical (GUI) interface for creating and configuring your Plucker content. Please make sure to download the proper version for your operating system below.

Plucker Desktop includes all of the components necessary to use Plucker on Windows, Linux and other supported platforms. Plucker Desktop includes the viewer, the distiller, documentation, and a full GUI to configure your content.

Just click on the rpm link for the operating system that applies to you (ie.Linux, Mac, Windows, etc) and then select the server nearest you.

what do i do with the python distiller (for plucker 1.8) folder?
Does it need to be in a folder near the windows plucker desktop (which is for plucker 1.6.2)? Or maybe I am confused... is the plucker desktop for windows the same as the Python distiller?

Why don't you just download the Plucker Desktop which includes the distiller, parser, Palm program and all the necessary software for everything to work (as described in my previous posting which is a copy of what's on the page). Run the plucker_desktop_setup_1.6.2.0.exe and it will install everything on your computer.

And just delete all that distiller folder that you've put on your hard drive so you won't get more confused.

Actually, better yet, read the documentation and it will explain how it works, etc.
