Hello folks,
I was wondering if it's possible to affect an application of my choice to the CO tab viewer ? (like, for instance, RescoViewer)
I think it would be great ... like Appshelf can replace the Application tab.

If you install medialauncher of VZ in TH, it will replace "Clie_viewer' tab in CO TAB.

I tried to install it but does not seem to work at all.
Is there something special to do ?

I would not download media launcher. It is hard to use on a TH-55, due to the orientation, and it doesnt really do anything new.

I agree with you jjesusfreak01.
But does anybody know if it is possible to assign an application to a CO tab ?
Or maybe, could anyone make such utility ? CliePet ? Sharkboy ?

tsensei-
interesting idea! i certainly think it might be a cool improvement to my TH lol. I'm not exactly sure what goes into changing programs around. Do you know if AppShelf changes the name of the tab or does it just change what happens when you tap "Launcher"? regards, sharky

Sharkboy,
Appshelf does not change the tab's name.
I can't help you much because I never developed on Palm. But I hope you will make it ! And if I can help you I will :)

thanks for the info!
ok, hopefully CP might be able to point out any mistakes i make:
1) I believe the tabs are graphics, so therefore it would be impossible (not really impossible, because you could change the image resource) to change the NAME of the tab. however, as AppShelf demonstrates very well it is possible to launch a different app.
2) This is where CP might be able to correct me. I think that AppShelf either changes something in a database OR catches an event sent when the Launcher graphic is tapped.
I'll end up doing some research! regards, sharky

Maybe this could help you : when you put the files of the VZ medialauncher on the TH it seems that the Viewer Tab is affected ... (In my case, it does not work anymore)
Just to make it clear sharkboy717, Appshelf doesn't actually change the application that's run apart from the launcher, it just runs in CO mode: the default applications run when the appropriate tab is selected. [apologies to everyone if you understood that.]
It'd certainly be nice to be able to use the CO menu without the penalty of the slowdown as it reads all the available multimedia files before becoming responsive. ...The Date Book and the viewer seem to access this information.
