I noticed MSN MapPoint http://mappoint.msn.com/ has an option to save their maps to a PocketPC device.  As I use this service (along with Yahoo Maps & MapQuest) fairly regularly I thought it would be nice to view these images (jpg & bmp) on my NR70.

The problem is that none of my image viewers have a "zoom" capability on the Clie.  I'm sure there is mapping software out there but I'd prefer to use the bmp or jpg I download from these sites.

Anyone know of an image viewer (free or cheap) that can zoom?

Is there a better way I'm overlooking?

Thanks in advance,

Oops! I just found out Acid Image zooms! Works pretty well...still open to other options though.

I tried AcidImage, looking specifically for something to view maps, and didn't like the way it redraws the map as you move it around.

The one program (which I already have) that does NOT redraw a map at all when you move it around, is Yishow. (Yishow includes an image viewer and doc viewer). Which is why I'm keeping it on my Clie.

CRSImg, which is FREE, doesn't redraw as much as AcidImage does. It only views jpgs tho.

If you want a good map software, I would suggest mapopolis. For $6 you can get a searchable map of a specific city. http://www.mapopolis.com

$10 if you want one that can handle directions too. Unfortunately for me, the $10 Los Angeles map was too big (7MB) to fit in my NXs memory without moving EVERYTHING to the MS. I e-mailed them, and asked if I could get the $6 map instead (they offered me the difference back, or a second map). I'm quite happy with it, and it runs fine in Powerrun, so my memories not all hogged up.

It allows you to search for a specific address, zoom, adjust detail level...etc.
