Hi
Please can anyone help with me understanding how the native CF drivers work on my new nx80.
It says in the manual that I should be able to access the CF card through clie files. I have tried with 3 cf cards but to no avail.
I had been initially trying to get CF audioplayer and movieplayer to work by downloading Pelaca' s newer versions. This did not work and led me to look at what should be working initially.
Have I messed up somewhere, or am I missing something as the instruction manual suggests I should at least be able to access CF cards?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes Clie Files allows you to access the CF card. I too messed up by trying to load various CF enhancements and Clie Files would not work, eventually Clie Files would crash and require a soft reset every time I tried to run it. It took me a while to get things to work again. Heres what I did.

1) Backup to a memory stick.
2) Hot sync with a computer.
3) Hard reset. Clie Files worked. But of course all my data was not
on the NX80. It was at factory reset level now.

4) Did a restore from memory stick. Clie files didn't work once again.
5) Hard reset.
6) Used Clie Files to copy files directly from the backup on the MS
to internal. I first copied half the files, did a soft reset, and found
Clie Files didn't work. At this point I knew that the offending
files were in the half that I restored.

I repeated steps 5 & 6 reducing the number of files I copied until I
knew exactly which files caused the problem.

If I copied files from the backup directory to the internal memory,
did a soft reset, and everything worked I knew the files I copied
were OK.

7) Delete the offending files from the MS.
8) Hard reset
9) Restore from ms.

all was fine.

This procedure meant I lost no data and was able to get my clie back to working order.

Hope I wrote this well enough so you could understand it. Hope it helps.

Thanks jdonalds for the quick reply. However, I fear my situation is worse than you had, in that when I do a hard reset I can use Clie files but I cannot access CF cards. It would seem that I am missing something.
When I loaded the updated audioplayer it also tried to load a file called SonyMMUtilLib which the handheld did not like and I wonder if this has had an effect. After, I would get an error message and I had to use filez to remove it. There is still a file of the same name after the hard reset (which I guess is the orignal) and audioplayer works. This is what made me start to look at clie files to access CF cards before I go any further. I wonder now if I have a fault with the unit?
