Hi,

does anybody know why is IMAP with SnapperMail running
at ~8 kb/s, when my connection is actually working at ~46 kb/s?

ClieMail (w/POP) usually operated at top speed.

Is this due to IMAP encoding, or due to the fact I am running SnapperMail
demo or due to some other reason?

Thank you very much! I am hoping somebody would know this.

Best regards,

DrZ

Check your speed measurements:

Most connections are measured in kb/s (Kilobits per second), whereas transfer speeds are more usually in kB/s (KiloBytes per second).

46kb/s is roughly 4.6kB/s, taking into account packet overheads, and with line compression this could easily be 8kB/s with e-mail.

If this is the case, your transfer rates are actually better than the base theoretical speed for your connection ;)

The Snapper folks are aware of the speed issues and are working on them. You may want to join the Yahoo group for SnapperMail.
