Hi, I have unfortunately dropped my brand new SJ33 (two weeks old!) , they stylus doesn't register anymore and there are two cracks in the bottom right hand corner. Everything else is working fine. I called Sony support...they said it would cost $175 to repair it...I would appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions to my situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

If you buy an extended warranty then there are some stores that cover accidental damage. Otherwise, your only option is to sell it strictly for parts, or pay for the damage.
How can you break the screen? The screen is protected by the flip cover. I don't understand.

Oh man! That hurts to hear that! Sell it on eBay for parts, get a new one AND GLUE IT TO YOUR HAND!

I am so sorry to hear about your SJ33. I just bought my SJ33 a few days ago.
I know exactly how you feel. I used to have a PEG-N760C (color, played MP3's etc). In December it got soaked in water when the water bottle in my knap-sack leaked coming home from the gym. After salvaging my 128MB Memory Stick (thank God) I proceeded to pour water out of the memory stick slot. I wasn't surprised when nothing happened when I turned the power button ON. I sent it to Sony but there was no fixing it. It was completely fried. I have heard this many times: CLIE's ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO WATER, even small amounts. Owners beware.
Your situation is much better than mine. It will only cost you $175 to get it fixed. I had to buy a new (albeit better) PDA. I am very happy with my SJ33 and will be taking good care of it. As for you I highly recommend that you pay the $175 and simply chalk it up as a "lesson learned".

I'd throw you another crying towel, but I don't think you need any more.
I would contact http://www.gethightech.com/ and see if they are planning to get any SJ33 screens in the near future. Right now, they don't have any listed on their site. Besides selling lots of replacement parts, there's good info there to assess exactly what you need.
The other alternative would be to watch eBay for a broken unit with a good screen.
Last alternatives would be to bite the bullet and fork over way-too-much to Sony to repair it, or dump it on eBay for a hundred bucks or so.
Hope everything works out for you.

BTW, I stole the carry strap off my wife's old Sony phone. Whenever I'm using my unit over a hard surface, I wrap the strap around my hand first.

These Clies are too sensitive. I've dropped several others, Palms and Visors without any negative results whatsoever.

Hi,
I just ran across this link; http://www.palmpilotupgrade.com/prices.html
They list glass repairs on SJ series CLIE's.
Good luck!
