It's really just a matter of time, when the ipod (mp3 player), the cellular phone, and the PDA all becomes one. In fact, the technology's is already there, albeit it might require a little bit more miniaturization for it to be pocketable, but it should be easy to roll all-three into one device that the size of a Hp 47xx (maybe a little thicker and without the VGA screen). It may have to sell for $999 though.
Hopefully Palmsource are working on providing support for HARDDISK'es. They are inevitable and will come sooner than later. I will not be surprised to see Windows Mobile devices with hard drives as soon as next year... Palmsource should not limit it OS to say 256 MB, it's a fatal flaw. The 64MB limit of OS5, has lead to both Sony and PalmOne making crazy configs just to go over that limit...hopefully they will overcome the rumored (no I'm not a developer, so I don't know) 256 MB limit of OS6 Cobalt.

First off Palmone and Palmsource should have never split up. Given the rapid drop in memory prices it was shortsighted to limit Cobolt to 256 MB.This will come back to haunt P1 and PS.

No, thank you. I neither need a harddisc mp3 player, therefore I have no iPod or similar and don't plan buying one, nor a cellphone in the size of a PDA. If PDAs converge into cell phones, then I will buy a really small notebook and be done with it. At least this is a real computer then and I can work with real Office and can forget that Docs2Go crap.
