I am please to say that SkinT3!, now renamed to SkinDIA!, is reportedly working on a real T5 as of version 1.31 (beta). It is also working on the T5 simulator. It can load T3 DIA skins on the T5, as the T5 uses almost the same skin resource data. Likewise, should any T5-specific skins appear, SkinDIA! (a free upgrade for SkinT3! users) will be able to load those on the T3.

I need one more beta tester with a T5. Free reg code included, of course, for the tester.

Where can one get the updated version?

Nowhere yet. I am waiting for reports from a couple of testers before I release.

Ah, thanks. I'll be waiting!

Released!

Here's my quick info text:

I've updated SkinT3! to work on the T5, and renamed it to SkinDIA!. This is a full-featured loader/manager for DIA area skins. You can now load T3 skins on the T5 (and theoretically T5 skins on the T3, except there are no T5 skins out yet as far as I know). This is an 8-day trial, after which you can no longer load new skins. But even after the trial expires, you still get to do some neat stuff for free, like make program icons show up in color in the DIA line or change the DIA clock text color.

Hi Alex, are there any sigificant changes between a T3 DIA and T5 DIA skin?
Would a StatusBarResources.prc generated by Festus' T3 Skinmaker work in a T5 without modifications?

Aside from the newer OS, IS the T5's dia any different?

At the very least, the version number would have to upped to 3. That done, I doubt it would work without SkinDIA!, but I haven't really tried it. I would myself expect the result to be a blank DIA area or a crash, because of potential incompatibilities in the 'ovly' resource (which SkinDIA! fixes from the OS copy).

SkinDIA! Looks good. As anyone noticed any changes and/or additions that need to be made for a T3 DIA to run on a T5 DIA?

If the DIA is loaded via SkinDIA!, no changes need to be made.

If it is to be loaded straight, the version number should be 3, and probably new data needs to go in the 'ovly' resource.

The Skin/Dia program works absolutely flawless on my T5. But I have a question. I don't know how to use the FixUp T3 program. I searched on here but I can't find any directions. So forgive me if it has already been covered. I open the FixUp program and it asks me for the name of the skin to be fixed. I click on the name of the skin and everything just closes. Is this the way it's suppose to work? I don't want to install the skin if it hasn't been converted to Skin/Dia, because it's suppose to crash my T5. Anyway, I would appreciate any help. (I am a registered user of Skin/Dia). Thank you Alex for the wonderful program. Cindy.

Yes. After it closes, the skin should be fixed. But with lots of Internal Drive memory, you shouldn't need it really. Alex

On my T5, can I just use the File Transfer and put them into the Internal Memory? Can I do that without fixing them first? Does the program itself convert them once they load?

Also, when I ask the program to send them to VFS it does put them all in internal memory. They seem to work from there just fine. This really is a great program. So many questions, sorry.

One more question, lol. Because of the change on the T5 of the buttons, can we still use the button overlays? On the T3 where the home button is, we have a notepad button on the T5, etc.

Thanks so much for your patience. Cindy.

If by "Internal Memory" you mean "Internal Drive" (rather than Program Memory), then yes. And, yes, of course all conversion is done on loading.

What's a button overlay?

I use T3AgendaBG on my T3. It does the same thing as SkinDIA, plus it's free.
Don't know if it'll work on a T5 though.

I could only find a foreign site. Try google.

SkinDIA and T3AgendaBG have very little in common besides the fact that they let you change the DIA. Two major differences:
1. SkinDIA allows you to have skins in 16 bit mode instead of 256 color.
2. SkinDIA allows you to merge skins and/or chnage just part of the DIA.

As well SkinDIA, also allows you to have color icons for your applications displayed in the DIA

I did not know that.

I just thought I'd post an alternate app for others to check out.

T3AgendaBG works great for me.
