If only Tapwave knew the T5 will be a little less than optimal, Tapwave could have cobbled together a new Zodiac with a more business look without the analog pad, and using existing software. It could have outsold the T5 many times over...

I agree. I think that Tapwave has already proven that they are focusing on user needs with innovative interface. Tapwave could very easily move beyond PalmOne in feature rich devices. I really hope that they continue to develop and find a solid user base. If you think about the cost and features of what they have already released, their first device has to get the "new guy on the block" award.

It kind of reminds me of Handsprings presence with the Visors. Their focus on expandibilty far outreached the possibility of Palm at the time. I think it's a shame that Visor development died. I can imagine that by now, with the larger processors and more robust OS that we would be seeing fully functional pcmcia slots on a trim device. I'll get over my long lasting handspring sorrow. Zodiacs decision to put two sd slots alone was a major improvement. The huge battery and fast and effecient processor performs way longer and at unnoticeable speed variations than my T3, that icludes movies, and MMPlayer has yet to tap into the 3d engine on the Zodiac.

I would imagine that there are would be T5 customers that opted for Zods. I'm one. I was waiting to see what Palm would put out, and found that the current Zod models were way better than the T5. Way better for my use, and I'm no gamer. I am a carpenter/contractor and a heavy document and resource writer. I use BT all of the time for chat, SMS, email, and browsing (I will complain about the Zod's browser : ( ...) I like everything about the Zod's layout and even the high dose of buttons. I've really grown fond of the analog joystick. I like it a lot better than 5way buttons on the Tungsten series.

Do you use a Zodiac? I'm just trying to get a feel for who is currently using Zods here at 1src.

By the way I just loaded firefox. Very Nice. I had been playing around with Maxthon, which was also nice but needs further development. It doesn't handle all websites that well. I'll see how well firefox performs, so far I really like the interface. I'm a tap addict. Having a window open to represent every web page you have open is a little too much for me.

I have one. I went through the Z vs T3 debate last year. Judging the T5 I am glad I went with the Z.

I would have bought one right out of the gate if it were available here but its not, and while it's possible to get one off the web, there would be no support (not official anyway) where I am. So still using my trusty NX80 though I'd saved enough to upgrade...

I'm sure Firefox will grows on you, it beats every browser I'd tried that it turned me into a Firefox crusader...thus, the signature. :)

FF is the bees knees. :D There are just soooo many cool and really functional extensions that is puts every other browser to shame! And it's FREE as well! ;)

Way to go GG...spread the word. Preach on MY BROTHER! :p :D

I have been using a Z2 for 5 months now. I am very happy with it. The BT is pretty slick for HotSync and even rudimentary web browsing (darned Tapwave browser). I was using Mapopolis maps on it last week, and performance was quite good. Graphics intensive games are spectacular on it. The two SD slots come in handy too.

I use Mozilla, which is way better than Explorer. I suppose Firefox operates similarly to Mozilla but without the bloat.

I've had my Zodiac2 now for 2 days. I already am attached to it. What a wonderful device. :D Don't ask me to write more, I'll write a book.

And then I'd write a sequel. So, please don't. :p

I've had my Zodiac since June. It's one of the best layed out palm devices I've ever used, and I've owned a few (Vx, NR70, NX60, NX80, Zire 71). As far as features, then only thing I think the Zodiac lacks is built-in wi-fi. As far as pre-installed software, I think we're dying for a Movie player that can use the graphics chip to decode/scale.

The only thing that is really killing the Zodiac is the lack of quality games.

WiFi is coming very soon to the Zodiac. In the meantime the Bluetooth GPS connection is Great!
