I have a problem with the card and it appears to be major.
It worked fine for two days, but apruptly last night the card started 1)slowing the system down, and 2) plain not working:
I press the 'connect' button, with NO altered settings from when it did work, and the dialog pops up, 'connecting Wireless'. But nothing happens, and the system freezes for ~20s, until it pops up an error dialog: Device Error.
The light on top does not light up or flash at any stage.
The card does cause the system to beep when inserted.
Having looked at the pins it does not seem any are damaged.
I have updated to the latest driver.
The MAC address appears to be shown. Although this may be lingering from when it did work.
A hard reset does not seem to solve the problem I may be wrong though.
Thanks for your prompt replies! I can't believe the card has screwed up already!

You're not going to like this, but it's possible that your WL100 is fried. Or, it's possible that your Clie's CF connection is. Before you panic, here are some things to try:
First, get a CF memory card and see if that works. You didn't say if you have a NX73/80 (with built-in CF memory card support) or an NX60/70 (without support). If you have an NX60/70, you'll need to get drivers.
If the memory card works, it's likely that your Clie is OK. Next, see if you can borrow someone else's NX-series Clie and insert your WL100. See if you have the same problems. If not, then the WL100 is fine but you have a Clie problem. It could be software (doubtful, since you did a hard reset) or hardware.
If the WL100 doesn't work in you're friend's Clie, the problem could be with the WL100 or it could be with your AP/internet connection. Since you're not getting a light, it sure sounds like a hardware problem.
If your WL100 works in your friend's Clie with your access point, then it's not likely the access point. Double check your settings, just to make sure. Are they the same?
Since the card is only a few days old, you might want to check into exchanging it.

OR, with a CF to PCMCIA adapter and the Intel drivers, try to use your WL-100 on your laptop

Thanks for the reply squeff. I have been using CF data storage on my NX60 for some time now. It still works. Thus the problem is likely in the card.
Finding a friend with an NX - or a Clié at all - is nigh on impossible in Australia so I'm going to have to find some other place to do it.
Thanks for your input spidey although I don't have the adapter.
I can only hope my 3-day old card is not gone.

Is this an NX60 or an NX80? I could have sworn I saw you post in another thread that it was an NX80. Or did I misunderstand?
Or do you have both? In which case you can try the card on both the NX60 and the NX80. Just remember to install the WiFi drivers on the NX60 and DON'T install them in the NX80.
But, yeah, from the sound of it, me'thinks you card may be dead. Hope you didn't pay too much for it.

Yeah I have a NX60-wish I had both, but unfortunately this is not the case,.
I paid $AU80 for the card - and waited a month.
Should I ask the seller for a refund? Selling faulty goods perhaps?
Thanks

Sony says I have to send in the Clie and WL100 for support.
This is obviously going to cost a fair amount of money.
I bought both items off the internet thus do not have receipts.
Do I have any avenues of 1)under-warranty repair, or 2) forcing the seller to pay?

As we know from another thread, without a receipt it's unlikely that Sony will repair under warranty.
You can ask the seller to refund your money or pay for repairs, but no real way to "force" the seller to pay. You might want to ask the seller to send you his/her original receipt.
If it's the card, I'll bet it'd be cheaper to try to buy another one. Yeah, I know that you paid $AU80 for the one you have now and it's hard to find sellers willing to mail to Australia.

I don't have the adapter.
If you're still stuck, these adapters are pretty cheap (~$10) on eBay
Like this:

If you go this route, you will also be able to use the laptop with the WL-100.
You'll need the Intel PC drivers too. I think you can get there from here:

Thanks for your help guys. If it does come down to another card, from where do you reccommend is the best (cheapest) place to buy one?

Related Question: Is there a PCMCIA adapter that will take both CF cards and memory sticks? Couldn't find one on ebay?

Not exactly what you asked for but would do the same:
