Where do I file this? Tungsten or Treo forum?

Anyway, many would be upgraders should be choosing between these two PDAs/smartphones as their next device? If you are to choose between the two, which would be it...granted they are different beasts, but ultimately those that choose the T5 will not be using a Treo 650 at the same time, and vice-versa. So I think, it's a legitimate comparison...

For me, I will probably take the Treo 65, though I would miss the big screen of the NX80 that I'm currently using...

For me, the T5 would be better becasue there are times that I do not want my complete palmie with me. The T650 does make for a heck of a debate between the two: smartphone or more RAM.

Where do I file this? Tungsten or Treo forum? You can file this post wherever you want! The real question is when Palm will be releasing the first patch for the Treo 650. They probably expect lots of people to buy them, and then complain, using us as guinea pigs to find all of the bugs in the software, thereby beating everyone to the punch, but releasing an inferior device. This idea falls apart however, due to the lack of pda companies to beat to the punch. Its actually kind of funny. Its the exact opposite of the Microsoft philosophy. For their next version of windows they are going to remove components which they have not perfected, to have a more stabile product at release, gradually implementing all of the planned features. The Palm motto: release now, fix later!

I will purchase the Treo 650 to replace my very reliable T|C. I have few complaints about the T|C (now that I've purchased a separate mp3 player), but I really want to carry a single device. I take my phone and T|C with me *everywhere.* At one time I couldn't imagine using a combo device. But toting 2 devices around all the time seems unncessary given how well the Treo combines phone and PDA functionality. I can't wait to get one!

The T5 was never really an option for me. The screen is nice, and I loved the large screen of my Clie NX70V when I had it. But its not enough to get me to give up my T|C for it; the Treo 650 *is* good enough...

The Treo seems interesting for people who need to carry only one device, but in fact in the PDA area the Treo falls a little bit short. 22MB Ram and 300MHz cpu don' really cut it for me. I have used 35MB on my TC, so I would have to leave some things behind and so for me it seems better to stay with a 2 device setup. Have 2 things, but both perfectly suitable for their respective uses. A phone, small, lightweight with a long standby time and a PDA with lots of memory, with a cpu that packs a punch.

That makes sense to me. Some of those new phones are incredibly thin and small. I think convergence is overrated. Maybe they should have some sort of snap on adapter so that people can snap their PDA & phone together, making it seem like carrying only one device

Like this "ClipOn Organizer" for the once popular Motorola StarTac phone?
Actually, I don't think this sold ver well, though I may be mistaken.

Anyone used this organizer?
