Yesterday my nr70v battery died out on me. So i put the charger on and tried to backup my data from my memory stick. From then on, it's been behaving very weird.

I tried a reset it but it didn't work nor did the soft reset. Finally after a hard reset it came back. That didn't do it either. Then i decided to format my card.

Whenever i try to charge it, the orange indicator light will show but not charge it. The screen with flash for a split second with the error msg "The startup application of this card cannot be run" then the screen will black out.

When i take it off the charger, i will beep for a couple of seconds as if something is wrong with it.

Has anybody encounter this problem with you clie? Please help me out here... :(

P.S: Sorry i'm not able to descript better but i hope you will understand.

When i said charger, i actually meant hotsync cradle.

After your Hard Reset (when it was factory-new) - did you do a Hotsync to restore what you had installed since taking it out the box brand-new?

What you describe sounds something like a problem I had almost a year ago with my NR70.

The AC adapter plug wasn't making good electrical contact where it plugs into the bottom of the USB cradle.

The immediate fix is to remove the plug from the cradle then re-insert it making sure it is FIRMLY seated.

The better long-term fix for me was to get the USB hotsync cable. It comes with an adapter that plugs directly into the universal cradle connector on the bottom of the Clie. The AC adapter plugs into that USB/power adapter. For some reason I've found that the power cable makes a more reliable connection that way than when it's plugged into the cradle.

After you get a good connection, you need to give your NR70 a long drink of power (charge it for several hours).

Good luck!

Yes i did and it just black out the screen when i pressed the hotsync button and gave me that error msg.

I think Dennis might be on to something. I've just fidle with the cable behind to cradle and the screen didn't black out on me this time.

Thanks for your respone, i think it's time to change my hotsycn cradle to a usb cable one. Cheers!
