View Full Version : Vertical white lines on NX70!

Hi!

I bought since 2 months my NX70 in france.
Since 1 week, I noticed vertical white lines on the left screen.(6 or seven)
After contacting Sony-link, I send it near belgium and they said me I must pay (250$) for a fix.
They said me even a little shock can produce this trouble; My NX70 hasn't any shock, no falling no breaking. The LCD is perfect but I think the problem comes from electronic. Are they announcing a problem for a lot of customer or am I alone?

Could you exchange it where you bought it?  I've never heard of this problem.  Sounds like a faulty unit, to me.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Yes the LCD screens can be fragile and expensive. Whether it was shock or not can be hard to ascertain, unless there are signs of physicall damage. I agree, having worked with LCD screens, it still could be a defect. Stand your ground!

BTW, I dropped mine on a hard concrete floor in the garage the first week I had it. That was back in November and it still works fine!

Hi! I'm back!
My NX70 was returned unrepaired and I'm very irritated...
They want to understand nothing: "Their Clie are perfect piece of technology"

The white vertical lines are appearing and disappearing now. when they're disappearing, the right image appears that says to me the LCD is not broken...

Any solutions?
(I think I'll write down this story to specialized magazines.)

this could happen to any device with an LCD.. I would suggest getting the vendor to swap the unit rather then Sony

...... I am sure they still have some rules and laws at the shop even though they are French?!?

It's definitely the LCD, it's possible that moisture may have gotten into it. Most likely it's the edge connector in the LCD panel, but trying to repair it would make a further mess and totally unusable. You would have been better off if the whole unit was dead...
