Well, it is working right now. With the T5, you actually see the update processing on the screen (i.e. Verifying, Updating, etc.). It automatically restarted itself right after the HotSync process, too.
Now, just waiting until it comes back up to verify the problems are fixed.
Back soon,
Lance

This was a complete ROM update to fix the early problems listed (i.e. calendar bug, contact bug, etc.). Everything went well, and the problems are fixed. I am trying to figure out if anything else was changed that would address any of the problems in third-party applications.
Thanks,
Lance

This will erase everything on your device (RAM and Internal Flash Memory). Although everything in RAM should be backed up on your PC. The contents of the internal flash memory are not. You will have to manually back these files up by transferring the files to your PC using drive mode or using the File Transfer utility on the PC.
Carefully read the instructions on the update page before updating your T5.

You need the charger to do this update. I have a (almost) fully charged battery, but the update stops and insists on connecting the charger.
FYI since I started this at work while my charger was at home. I realize it was listed in the fine print, but who actually reads that stuff anyway :)

It need to be plugged? That's taking a page from Apple and its ipod update style!
Nice to see that PalmOne acknowledges it as a major bug and fixes it in a week. Last year, it took them a month to fix the T3 sd card issue. If only they fixes the T3 digitizer issue as fast...

It looks like PalmOne still hasn't fixed the bugs affecting 3rd party apps. One developer affected by this is Bits-n-Bolts software the maker of excellent backup utility "BackupMan". They have a blurb about the status of updates at PalmOne at:

Unfortunately, that's one important app given the soft/hard resets that some users have encountered so far. That app, if working, would have save a lot of time reinstalling from scratch or from PC Backup (which takes longer than from SD cards)...

I was thinking it had something to do with having enough power to do the ROM update. Maybe for some reason that takes more juice.
