I would like to know that why Palm 's games is not as good as PPC's games. I saw my friend's PPC and it was so great. NX's CPU is now as fast as PPC's.

The bad thing is that with palm you dont need publishers as such (unlike with consoles) but the developers charge about double what they would get for a gb game (for $20 games) but the games are just repetitive puzzle-type games with single levels or almost exact games. I want full gb games not arcade games.

I think there are 2 reasons why we don't have as good of games on palm os. first, ppc os is similar to windows to it is easier to program/port games if you are already familar with programming on PCs. second, palm pda's don't have nearly the same amount of ram as PPCs (16mb vs. 32-64mb+). Some of the larger games take up a lot of memory. I recently read a review of Age of Empires for PPC in handheld computing magazine. They said the main app for this game takes up 8mb alone. plus the scenarios and levels the entire program takes up about 16mb. If only we had that much ram just lying around. I know that most ppc games don't take up nearly this much but I think games like this are what people think of when they think of better ppc games.

One of the Palm OS biggest strengths is that it exists in such a wide variety of hardware. Palm OS licensees often tweak the OS to fit their devices, a policy which Microsoft wouldn't let happen with PPC. As such, in the PPC world there is more uniformity in those devices.

Also, Palm's multimedia API's are still young and not as robust as the DirectX derivative that is on the PPC. Maybe OS 6 from Palm, with the BeOS components, will change that.

Most palm games are pre OS5. Check out Mtheif and Lemmings @ http://www.ardiri.com/ Palm games are getting there.
