View Full Version : T3 slider loose compared to TT?

Howdy. I finally upgraded from TT to T3, and I love it so far, but the slider seems much looser compared to my old TT -- sometimes accidentally opening or closing with minimal force. Can anyone tell me if the T3 slider in general is loose (compared to TT), or should I seek an exchange?
Thanks for any input.

There is some variance in the slider on the T3. I know 2 other people with T3s. One has a very loose slider, it opens more or less by itself, the second is quite tight, and mine is in between. It was tight in the beginning, but has loosened over the months of use. As far as I know, except tightening the screws on the sides (which I have tried to no avail) there is nothing one can do except exchanging the unit.

My T3 was pretty stiff when I bought it a year ago and has lightened up some since then. I've heard of folks who bent out the slider rails a bit to tigheten them up. I haven't seen a need to do that yet. This is a minor issue for me.

I also just upgraded from a TT to a T3. My slider is significantly looser than the T's. It's kinda worrying me, but I hope I will get used to it. In fact I've only had the thing a week and a half, but since I put it in my new Sena case the slider feels even looser than before. If it gets any worse. I'm gonna have to exchange it.

It seems that there are few of us old TT owners. I also bought a T3 two weeks ago (almost insantly after the T5 disappointment). I was hoping the Sena case would make the slider feel tighter - I am not sure what logic I was using there.

I guess (speaking for the group) we would like to know if our T3's loose slider is a Palm QC issue or if this is normal for the later issued T3s. If you recently bought a T3 and it is tighter than the T1/T2 please stand up.
