Just read a thread on PalmInfoCentre. Gekko has decided to go out and buy another T5 on the basis that his first experiment with this device was flawed due to third party software incompatibility. What's going on here? He almost had me convinced to upgrade my M515 with a T3 instead of the T5. Then I read Lance's thread and started re-thinking. I'm still thinking but curious about Gekko's decision to go out and buy yet another T5?

My second subject, What's with CDN has to do with what I believe to be a rip-off by Canadian retailers. The Canadian dollars is now worth $0.80US, yet Palm handhelds are still selling in Canada as if the dollar is only worth $0.60US. The only honest retailer appears to be www.softmagic.ca which is selling the T5 at the correct exchange rate. Future Shop, Best Buy and Staples are all selling the T5 at $100.00 more than the current exchange rate. Worse...even the PalmOne Store (Canada) is refusing to adjust their prices to the current exchange rates.

Went to Future Shop yesterday to see whether they would honour their "Lowest Price Guarantee" and was told "NO".

I hate spending this kind of money on-line but for $100.00, I just might.

BTW, the T3 and the TE is also selling at a significantly lower price at www.softmagic.ca.

Has anyone dealt with this web retailer? Any problems?

Please forgive me for making an assumption here Gekko, but I really doubt that Gekko is moving over to the T5.

Now Gekko: (notice the lame : for those who read quickly) on PIC seems to really enjoy the T5, but I am not jumping the T3 ship as a result of the newbies thoughts.

What? Now we have two Gekkos to contend with?

Would the REAL Gekko please stand up!

The second Gekko is being sarcastic. But could be an impostor, For one, if he really will want to buy a second T5, why at airport store (Again) knowing it is harder to return than any regular store? Still, moderators should determine culpability, and warn him, if it is, they are making a mockery of these boards....

Though it would really be interesting for the real Gekko to get a new T5 and see if it matches his first experience... In fact, if PalmOne is reading and have faith in its device, it could provide a unit and see if Gekko's experience is just based on a bad-unit. If it is, then PalmOne would really have countered much of the initial bad-effects of Gekko's revelations...

Beware of the imposter. Action will be taken against him.

I have been a long time palm user. I traded in my zodiac 2 for a t5 yesterday at compusa. When I first got it and loaded my apps I heavily use, it crashed my tt5. Then I was regretting getting the tt5. I have been reading lance's experience thus far, and I posted a few posts saying that the tt5 is an awesome machine, if it werent for all the apps not working. Look we are the early adopters of the tt5, and now I am loving mine, especially now knowing which apps work definitely, I just gotta say I am starting to really like it. I am still holding onto my tt3, but so far my must have apps are working fine on the tt5. I am starting to think once developers update their appsthis will be a very good pda, sleek, light, fast(thanx to the tt5 overclocking app). I am feeling ALOT better today with my trade, my tt5 is working GREAT!!!
