hi, to keep the screen of my new nx scratch-free a (tried) to apply the sony own screen protector. it took my quite a while and now the result looks everything but nice. have some air and more disgusting dust underneath as i had to lift it several times for perfect fit.
question1:
can i savely remove it, clean it and put it back on? i mean, isn't their any kind of coating which would be washed away by rinsing it?
question2:
the sony protector seems to get dirty quite easily. any recommendations for 3rd party protectors? would be good if those may be available in europe via mail order. don't want high shipping costs for some 5$ goods.

I never use or recommend them. They can cause more trouble than they are worth. Reduced screen sensitivty, reduced readability, a magnet for dust. Additionally, the only screen that ever got scratched was on a PPC, as a piece of debris somehow got between the protector and the screen. I have been using pda's for a long time, and the only time where I tried a screen protector, I ended up with a scratched screen, so go figure :).

I bought a screen protector from Sony right after I got my NX60. I had no problems putting it on. I've removed and cleaned it at least twice. It goes back on easy enough. The more you put screen protectors on, the better you get.
I am not very happy with this screen protector, though. It has worn out way too fast and makes the screen look lousy. I've ordered a ClearTouch from BoxWave and will see how it works.

i just use the ones that Best Buy sells for all of their PDAs (go figure cause i work there and get a great discount on them) it works great, just was a ***** to get on, but once it was applied i love it and it protects well and still have a beautiful display.

I am using the ones provided for by Brando (http://shop.brando.com.hk/)
I bought a few of them for my old N770 and even cut one up to cover my mobile phone and other gadgets with LCVDs screens too precious for scratches etc.
I have one for my NX70 and even though you can remove and wash them and re-apply, I still haven't as the surface remains clean (needs the occasional wipe with a screen-wipe you can get from most PC stores) and the surface is very smooth to write on, dare I say, better than writing pen on paper ...

I am using the boxwave cleartouch. It is quite nice. It is kind of like the sony screen protector for how to put it on, which is annoying. However, air doesn't get trapped underneath nearly as much and what does can easily be removed by sliding a credit card over top. I tried to do this with the Sony one and it scratched the screen protector pretty badly, but on the Boxwave one it removed the air bubbles and now it looks quite nice.

I got the G2 from John Salazar at www.pdascreenprotectors.com. He is in Canada; not sure if he will ship to Europe. I just posted my comments on this protector in this thread (look toward the end of the thread):

I hope that helps!

Unlike n2ifp/Larry, I am totally unconfident in my ability to keep the screen free of scratches without it. And this baby was two months grocery budget for my big family. So, I got the Brando.
It was a *itch to get on. In fact, I managed to poke it with my finger nail and take a little divet out of the back of the protector (so, now I do see that, which is annoying as all heck). But, I don't feel like my screen is going to get screwed up. I think if the stylus didn't seem so likely to scratch (hate this stylus! But, maybe it has something to do with being a lefty and the angle at which I hold it) I might be less concerned about it.
Good luck with it!

I ordered these screen protectors from Nushield after doing alot of forum research. These are a litle tricky to install, but one month later, still using the same protector (came with 3) and don't even know it is there. Colors come through as great as before, and I feel confident the screen is as protected as it can be. I highly recommend these, and I had tried several others before this one.
