Hi - I have a T625C (which I'm very happy with). My partner has an old black and white Handspring but wants to upgrade to a coloured screen PDA as well. We're a bit short of cash at the moment so I've had a bit of a look around to see if there are any bargains out there and I've noticed that I can get an N770 for GBP182. So:
1. Is this a good deal?
2. Is the N770 a good option to go for or is it an old / out of date model?
3. What are the benifits of buying an N770 over say the T675C?
Cheers

1-Is that like $260?? If so, that is not the best deal I have seen, look on Ebay for n760c, they are about $180-$190
2-A bit dated, go for T675 (I guess this is the T665 here??), the screen is so much clearer than the N770 (I guess this is the N760 here??) Plus you get 16mb with the T675 instead of 8mb with the N770
3-Only benefit the N770 has is a little better battery life, but the T675 has a way better screen and more memory..
all of this is based off my assumption that the T675 is the T665 here and the N770 is the N760 here.

IMO the N760 (770) has better buttons and better battery life as mentioned. I think you can get it cheaper than the T665 (675) too. I have been using mine for over an year now and I couldn't be more happy with it.

So, the 770 is the 760 to me and the 675 is the 665 to me, is that correct? Also, I had a N760, and yes it is a wonderful clie, my dad still uses it day in and day out for over a year now, but when my friend got the t615, I just had to have it, the screen was so nice!!! But I wanted the mp3 player so I got the t665!!!

Hi Mastervtec
I believe that you are correct - the 770 is the 760 and the 675 is the 665 dependent upon which side of the pond you are looking from.
I'll check out Ebay - sounds like they have a good deal on at the mo.

Swampy,
My advice to you is to wait a short while. I bought a new 770 on ebay and now realise I was ripped off, and I should have done some simple research. The 770 is a fine PDA, but has been discontinued for quite some time, and if you look at dealtime.co.uk you will find shops selling new 675's for only £20-£30 more than I paid for the 770, so for £20 more I could have gotten more memory, better screen etc.
Additionally, I've just seen the new SJ33 being advertised for £245 - so expect the 675 & 625 to plumit in terms of cost shortly.
A word of warning, don't get caught as I did on ebay. Often the 'shops' will advertise 'new' PDA's with a RRP, in the case of my 770 it was £399 - well it was that a year ago !......

Thanks HdIsss
Am I being totally stupid or are the shape and cover the only differences between the T675c and the SJ33? And what is the difference between the SJ30 and the SJ33?
Are Sony just trying to cash in on a new sexier shape without any real product improvements?
This is probably old ground but after researching and buying my T625c, I got out of the PDA loop.

The T665C has the extended ir and remote commander, the SJ33 does not. The T665 also has a vibrating alarm, other than that the specs are pretty much exactly the same.
The SJ33 is the SJ30 but with an MP3 player.
IMHO, the SJ33 is a step backwards, Sony needs to raise the bar with every new model they come out with, and they aren't doing that, except for the TG50 and a couple other models. The TG50 is nice, and that is what I am talking about: BT, Keyboard, 200mhz processor, palm os5, all for under $400!!!
