Battery Charger on NZ 90

Does anyone know if the AA battery charger for the NR series also works on the NZ series?

I can't give a 100% verification about this, but on all the AA chargers on eBAY say they work for NR/NX/NZ. Something like you can get 3-5 Charge-cycles per 4AA batteries. I don't know if you are talking about a particular brand or whatnot, but you might want to check out ebay and see what they say 'bout 'em. I certainly would hope they wouldn't be advertising them (there are several companies who are selling quite a few of them) if they didn't work for the NZ. I would think they would end up with quite a few returns.

I am pretty sure it would work. I think Sony is concerned about letting anyone believe they can put a connector into the sync slot since it does not lay flat but goes in at an angle. If you put the PDA on its back and pushed down (forcibly) you would break the internal connector.

That being said, I never use the cradle anymore. I have an extra adaptor with the dongle or I use my Boxwave minisync. Both of them work great and are way better than the cradle.

I use mine a lot...same thing as all the other devices...it's a bit of a stressed fit, but it does fit and it works well...

No clue what long term effects it might have...haven't had the NZ long enough to know...

While it works for me with no issues of any kind... Sony says it is not approved.

I am interested in getting the battery charger for my NZ as well. I have noticed that on the Sony website, they show the same battery charger model number for both models. Of course they also show the same screen protectors numbers for both as well as for the NR70 and I am using an NR70 protector on my NZ90 now and it doesn't completely fit. So who knows!!

I called the Sony customer service about the car DC adaptor, and they said the AC and car adaptors are to be used via the cradle only with the NZ and not directly into the back of the PDA itself. I wonder if the AA battery charger you are asking about might be the same story?

I have used the charger with my NZ since day one with no problems. I believe Sony may be concerned that the connector may damage the flexible plastic cover for the Hotsync port. The cover stretches a bit with the connector plugged in.

I hope sony will make up its mind. It would be handy if you take alot of pictures with this unit to have a AA adapter.
