I just got my Bluetooth hotsyncing enabled (Hooray)
and now of course I have a bunch of questions.
First Question
It seems like the simplest way to have this going is to leave the bluetooth service enabled on the clie. Has anyone seen major power drains because of this ?
Next Question ?
is it better to disable it and only enable it for hotsyncing ?
final question:
Apps using WiFi (netFront, ClieMail etc) are able to automatically enable and then disable the WiFi card this way not wasting any unnecessary power. Is the same idea possible with bluetooth for hotsyncing ? Or do I have to go into Prefs > bluetooth> disable each time... ?
any ideas would be helpful :)

Dunno. I leave mine on. Power drain doesn't seem bad.

A thing or two to think about with BT:
1> Ensure you have your BT Device password protected. Last thing you want... is for someone to go into your device without having to authenticate with a password
2> To reduce Power Drain, you may also wish to have the ALLOW DEVICE TO BE DISCOVERED turned off. That way people won't see your device. This should only be turned 'off' once you have your PDA configured with your devices. Even though discovery is off, you will have it already configured with those other devices.
3> I'd also turn 'wake-up' off. I believe that does 'polling' as well and can take more juice from your battery.
Just suggestions only. Some people leave everything turned on with regards to BlueTooth, but don't need it on.

Looking for support on whether to get rid of the N760 and go with the NZ90

rgs,
Depends on what you want it to do.... and what you want out of the Palm. Biggest advantage... is you get a much faster processor (200mhz ARM Processor).
It all depends on what your needs are in a PDA... to know whether or not to buy one. I didn't buy one... just to get the newest out there... I bought it because my old 33mhz Dragonbal VZ based HandSpring Pro was way too slow and waited for the NZ to come out so I could Upgrade. If you are happy with your NR and it does all you want it to do... well it seems kinda pricey to pay $800 just for a newer one. Most people don't buy new PCs.. just because a new one is on the market. They end up buying a new PC because their old one is out-dated, too slow, won't run newer needed apps... etc.
