Has anybody any knowledge of wire free keyboards that can be used with the NZ?

I'm stunned nobody has answered this. Is the forum dying, have people really given up on the eccentric, weirdly flawed NZ90?

The NZ-90 seems to be just too problematic. Personally, I've gone to the pocket PC (toshiba e800 to be specific), but I'm still trying to work out some of the NZs issues to make it work for someone else. Too frustrating for me...

So why would you want a wireless keyboard if you have the NZ90 as it already has a keyboard?

For bluetooth keyboards- i don't think it will happen- I have tried to pair w/ a MS bluetooth keboard. The NZ90 can see and pair w/ the keyboard, but it has no idea what to do with it. I guess I need a bluetooth driver for the KB.

For IR keyboards, any of them should work as long as the applet that gets installed on the Palm will work on PalmOS 5. I think Belkin an a few others make items like this.

Thanks for the information. The reason I ask is I just don't like the NZ keyboard, and I've found that the external Sony keyboard for the NX is really useful.

The battery is the big passion killer on the NZ. I even went out and bought a spare battery, but it makes little difference: leave the NZ lying around for 3-4 days, unused, and the battery drains right down, even though it's been fully charged.

Latest newsflash in the great NZ90 techno screw up department: there's a voice recorder activate button on the side of the casing. And guess what? Unless you're very careful just handling the machine means that you turn on the recording function, it takes the merest pressure, with all sorts of potentially embarrassing consequences. More importantly this involuntary bugging capacity drains the battery and eats space on your memory stick. Doncha just love it?

actually- it is in a lot better location than on other models; on the TG50 it is on the top left side, so if you reach into your pocket to pull it out, it activated the voice recorder.

My roommie has a Toshiba e740 Pocket PC with a voice record button in a similar location- only problem is if she slides it in her case it starts recording.

I think they placed the buttons for convenience; but they should have recessed them a little more so they aren't pressed by accident. I guess the test market before they released them was composed of Japanese with small, very dexterous hands... :)

Yep, it sure is a problem, I suppose the answer would be to put a lock facility on it, like the lock facility slider/button that works for the machine as a whole, but then that would again tend to defeat the object, or one of them: simple click button convenience...

OK, so I purchased an Omiz bluetooth keyboard. It is recognized by my NZ and connected, then when I open up documents to go or memo I get the dreaded FATAL ERROR. Anyone know how to fix this? Many thanks as your answer will save me the return shipping cost, etc.
