I'm in the market to upgrade my M515 (not sure whether I'm going with a T3 or T5 but still doing my research.) In any event, I will need to upgrade my keyboard as I am presently using the Pocketop Wireless which does not support Palm OS 5.
My research into keyboards has me totally confused. Here's what I've found.
The new PalmOne Wireless keyboard with FIVE key rows is selling for $49.99 at Amazon.com. The OLD PalmOne Wireless keyboard with FOUR key rows is regularly priced at $69.99 and now selling for $59.99 at Amazon.com. The really OLD PalmOne Ultra-Thin keyboard with the now discarded Universal Connector is selling for $93.99.
Does anyone know what's behind these prices? The old maxim, which I usually live by, is that you get what you pay for. But the prices I just quoted don't make sense. Why is the newest PalmOne keyboard with FIVE key rows the cheapest? What am I missing?

Palmster, I have lately had the same experience here in Australia. Imagine this at the big "Future Shop" type store:
T3 -- $749
T5 -- $619
TE -- $249
M505 -- $299

Go figure. It is like the sunk cost mentality, "Well, we can 't sell it for less than the newer product because we bought it for more..."

It does not make sense, but I think they plan on selling more of the universal keyboards. In fact, I recommend the universal keyboard. It has five rows of keys. In addition, they moved the IR transmitter to swing to the right of the device, which works best with righ-handed users that have a Tungsten T3/T5 so that you can type with the device in landscape mode.

Take care,
Lance

Lance, is the new five row universal the same quality as the old four row universal and is it much bigger or weightier?
