I got 512 MB MSPro.
I want IC2.0 to split movies by 45 minutes each. Means that 1:30 movie will be splited in 2 MP4 files 300 MB each.
How do I do it ?
I tried to change MAX_MOVIE_SIZE in registry from 1c20 to A8C (2700 secs), didn't work.
Then I tried to go to menu in IC2.0
?????(F)
CLIE MP4????(S)
- Checked option in the middle and selected 45 of something. 288 MB appear next to this option.
Didn't work either.
I don't have jap. locale in my PC, and I don't know a thing in japaneese. Can anyone guide me what I am doing wrong ?
Can IC2.0 split files ? Or Virtual Dub is the only option ?

I think IC2 intelligently splits the file once it runs out of space. But I'm not sure if you can force it split the way you do. If I see correctly, I've had 2 instances where my 256 MS ran out of room, and then it spit out a msg. When I cleaned up some files, and re-converted file, it began where it left off.
Maybe the only way (altho I don't know) is if you filled upyour MS so that it can only record so much at a time, thereby splitting it the length that you want?
... I know, it sounds stupid to me too, but that's the only that came to my mind

Yes, you can, you have to go on options tab and then you can choose the duration in minutes (depending on the bitrate, it shows you the file size):

No, IC 2 can't split files when you set those settings. I already tried that.
BTW, I'm using IC 2.0.01.09170 (installed IC 2 update patch).

In fact it's a bit weird so, you need, as usual, to put the file you want to encode (here a MPEG file of 1 minute and 28 seconds):
http://www.lmame-bug.com/vz/split_01.jpg
Then, right click on the file to select the "C" menu (MP4):
http://www.lmame-bug.com/vz/split_02.jpg
You got this window, click on the button where is the mouse:
http://www.lmame-bug.com/vz/split_03.jpg
You got then the MP4 options, check that you wan to split the file from 1 minute 28 seconds by slices of 1 minute, then click on OK:
See also the path right after, files will be encoded HERE.
http://www.lmame-bug.com/vz/split_04.jpg
Click on Ok to validate:

Right after that, the encoding will begin automatically:

After this, you see that on the LEFT panel, you now have TWO files, one of 1 minute, and the second of 28 seconds:

If you click on their properties (right click on Files, "P" menu), you'll see there are MP4 files and they are in the directory:
http://www.lmame-bug.com/vz/split_09.jpg
http://www.lmame-bug.com/vz/split_10.jpg
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ImageConverter2"
If you want to change the path, when you check that you want to dice the file, the option right after is the path...

I see.. It is little bit different w/ old IC... Beside right-click, you can use "MP4 Convert" button.
And, you can transfer file to correct path (MP_ROOT/100MNV01) by pressing "Transfer" button in the middle, IC 2 will transfer selected files and corresponding required files (*.THM & *.MAI).
FYI, the registries for changing those settings are in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Corporation\Image Converter Utilities\
Keys:
DIVIDE_ENABLE (0: disable, 1: enable)
DIVIDE_TIME (in mins)
SAVE_FOLDER (path for temporary saving for division)

BTW, the checkbox under the saving path is to delete splitted MP4 files after transferred.
If not checked, you can add this file back to "Transfer list" anytime (by select 3rd item: "Manage converted CLIE MP4 files" in File menu (w/ (M)). Then you can export MP4 files w/ *.THM and *.MAI files together.
