Simple and Plain Which Is Better

I want to know out right, and simple which is better. MQV or MPEG4. I dont know MPEG4 Looks better to me even at 192K, But it might be just me having something new and automatically thinking it is better ( just because its new). So I need the experts to tell me which is better. So I wont waste time and space on my memory stick using MPEG4 when it is the same as MQV

The thing is that MQV are just MP4 with other extension. They are the same

So if they are the same why everybody wants to play MP4 instead of MQV

MP4 and MQV have same file size, same quality, BUT MP4 is encoded mmuch faster with IC2 than MQV in IC 1.1...
And it's newer ;)

I guess it's bit more than "rename" MQV to MP4 as you need new codecs on the newest CLIE (TH, UX) and it does not run, even with new codecs on previous CLIE...

File size, and such are pretty much dead even, but IC2 is so much more convenient, it's hard to go back to IC1 with virtual Dub and other transcoders to revert back to mpg or raw avi format first. That alone is worth the price of admission.

I said in another thread, my clie is mainly used in my car for music videos and such, so I convert a batch of music vids all the time. Now, instead of me trying to capture my own vids, I can do a search online and d/l the vids and not worry about its format.
