BTW, is this your own AP or are you trying to steal someone else's bandwidth?
The AP you are trying to connect to apparently has some level of security enabled. It might be WEP, WAP, MAC address filtering, and/or is functioning in the "g" mode only. The UX is starting to connect, getting kicked off, and attempting to reconnect.
The UX will recognize WEP but won't recognize WAP. When you "scan" and detect an AP with WEP enabled, the list of SSID's will display an asterisk beside the SSID's that are using WEP. You will need to enter the WEP key using the "Edit" connection function on the menus.
If the AP has WAP enabled, the Clie won't recognize the security mode (no "*") but can't successfully connect. Likewise, if the AP is in the G mode only (not "b" only or "b/g"), the UX can't successfully connect.
If the AP is using MAC Address Filtering, again, the UX will initially connect and, if the AP hasn't had your UX's unique MAC address added to its filter list, gets kicked off without any data passing through the AP.
If it's your own AP, you need to access its admin setup and make the necessary changes to allow the UX to connect (enable "802.11b", disable WAP, and add the UX's MAC address to the filter list) and enter the WEP key, if used, into the UX's connection settings. If its not yours, it likely the owner doesn't want you to access his network and has successfully fenced you out.
