I just picked one up to check out at Fry's Electronics in Atlanta. Looks like they had 10-12 on the shelf if you're interested....

Hey thanks, that's good to know. I work down the street (walking distance) from the Fry's here in Aaheim, California. Maybe I'll walk down there at lunch and check it out.

Shoot, I went over to Fry's and they didn't have it yet.

But I did notice the T|Es were on sale for $178.00. So now I'm thinking maybe I'll get one of those to use until the bugs are worked out of the T5 or a better successor comes along.

You might want to check back every other day. Fry's is famous for putting products out before they are "supposed to".
Regarding the "bugs" so far, so good, as long as you recognize that not all programs may run with the "new" version of the OS. I also know not to make my default calender view - the month view.

I was looking for a long battery life in the smallest unit that would give me 24/7 connections with my Verizon Bluetooth phone. I'll throw more into it tomorrow, but the screen is great (and I've had Sony Clies), the weight (5.1 oz.) is Great, and the battery so far seems much better than the T3. I didn't need voice memos & vibrating alarms...

Thanks for the idea of checking back ... I can always use another excuse to go to Fry's :)
And thanks for the positive report. I'm debating whether to get the T|E or the T5. The more positive things I hear about the T5 the easier it will be to go that way.

The Fry's in Renton, Washington, (near Seattle,) has the T5 on display, too. They also have the PalmOne Wi-Fi card, which is new since the last time I was there.

Fry's in Palo Alto has about 30 T5s, but no display model yet.

I went over to Fry's in Anaheim (California) at lunch today and saw that they have a bunch of T5s and hard cases for sale. I played with the display unit and mostly liked what I saw. It's a lot speedier than I expected ... but then I'm coming form an M100. The display was gorgeous. I concur with what others have said about the nice fit and finish and solid feel. I was surprised that many of the standard programs don't use the full screen. I'm sure others have mentioned that, but it didn't sink in.

I called up my better half to ask if she minded if I bought it then and there and before I even said hello she said "no". That psychic thing is spooky :)

Actually she reminded me that I was using buying a new Palm as an incentive to drop some weight ... so I should be ready in a few weeks. Hopefully any real deal killer bugs will be found by then.

Expansys Uk received their stock today after quoting 4 Nov as the expected date. I'm hoping I will get mine tomorrow morning.
