Having a TH55/E with bluetooth, I am considering buying a new mobile(cell) phone to use with it in the UK.
What phones are people using with the TH55 and
what do you recommend?

Use it with SonyEricsson T630 no problem but only for texting, address book linking and getting photos out of phone. Have not been able to get modem connect functions working yet - has anyone else done this successfully, and if so what operator and what settings did you use in phone?

I use the TH55 with a Siemens S55.
It doesn't look as nice as the Sony/Ericson phones, but the GPRS implementation is somewhat better on the S55 (and on newer Siemens phones).
It's very stable, I once had JIMM (mobile ICQ) running on the S55 for several hours without disconnect.

I've been using a Sony Ericsson Z600 with my TH55 for txt messaging, dialing from my TH55 address book, and GPRS. Works great. The two devices were 'made for each other', as far as I am concerned.

I am using my old trusty Ericsson T39m. It has bluetooth and GPRS and with an extended battery 600 hours standyby.
You ought to consider that if you are going to leave the Bluetooth one all the time on your new phone that this a drain on your battery. Therefore get a phone with as long a battery standby time as possible.
Secondly I had hours of frustration getting things to worl till I dicovered that having paired the TH55 and my ohone that both have to be set to not discoverable to get surfing the Net to work
If you are on T-mobile I have the guide for setting up GPRS if you want

Yup, I'm on Vodafone (via Singlepoint). Took a while to work it out, as the auto generated profile didn't work. I set up a new profile as CID2, and the network phone number as *99***2# (the 2 is the CID number it calls up, 1 by default). Works nicely, but I only turn on BT when I need it on both devices to save battery. The T630 battery is OK, but not a patch on my old Nokia 6310i.

Which one has no camera?

My work place does not allow us to bring any digital camera into the office for security reason.

TIA

The Siemens S55 has no camera built in. I'm glad abut that - the TH55 cam is much nicer.

But you can attach the Siemens-add-on-cam, which even does sport a flashlight. -- For the time you're not on a secret mission, DanT. :D

I've been using BT to connect my TH55 to my Sony Ericsson T-610, which has been flawless. It also works very well with my HBH35 Sony Ericsson BT headset.
Internet works very well through T-Mobile's GPRS network. I do not know anybody using Verizon's.

Actually, I ditched Sprint PCS for T-Mobile for this reason.

Do all these phone work with the TH55 straight out the box, or are there usually drivers to be obtained, installed etc.
If so, are the drivers supplied with phone, or where do we get them from?

Luckily, Bluetooth is a standard: you won't need to install anything to connect mobile devices to each other.

Use the generic GSM driver, there is no specific K700 one, I use the generic for GPRS with my TH55/E and although when you test the driver in the 'phone' preference it objects that you don't have the specific driver it still works ok.

Hi all

Does anyone know how to use a Nokia 6600 with the TH 55.
Dialing is succesfull, sending texts also, but receiving txt's and setting up a GPRS connection are not succesfull.

What to do? Anyone advice?
