Is it safe to disable the xp firewall for my wifi card? It seams that is the only way i can hotsync, or connect to the internet. Currently i am running Zone Alarm for my firewall, which i feel should provide adedquate protection. Any help or info is greatly appreciated deeply guys, thank you in advance.

There is a way to configure Win XP's firewall, but that's beyond my expertise. The settings were given somewhere in Cliesource awhile back.
My XP firewall is disabled too and since I am going through a router, someone would really have to try and access my PC.
If you running Zone Alarm you should be just fine. I disabled my Norton, but that was for other reasons.

Most Router/Hubs/AP have a built in firewall. So I didn't feel there was a problem disabling my local computer's firewall.

TURN off the WINDOWS XP firewall.
RUN a 3rd party firewall.
The first time I did a wireless Hot Sync, the firewall software prompted me as to whether or not to accept the incoming 'call'. I clicked YES and ALWAYS ACCEPT from [whatever] and it's fine now ...
I have noticed that the 3rd party software continues to block other incoming 'naughty' calls and stuff so it's obviously functioning okay.

Open Up Contol Panel, and select Network Connections. Select the connection you are using, (for me is is the LAN connection), and choose properties. From there you will see an Advanced Tab, Unselect the Internet connection Firewall setting. You may have to reboot (or log off and log back in again). That's all there is to it.
P.S. If you download lots of files (i.e. Linux ISO downloads, your throughput will be a bit slower with the WinXP Firewall enabled. That's primarily why I disabled mine. I'm also running Zonealarm, and that's much more reliable and configurable.)
Thank you for your time.

Why are you *****ing when someone tries to help you out? Level of experience can not always be implied.
