I'm pretty new with everything about the new NZ90s. I wan't to get one but am not sure if I should get one now, or wait until they're cheaper or another NZ model more suited to my needs comes out. Basically, I like the NZ90 but am concerned about the following:

1) WiFi: I'd like it built in so I don't have to buy another card.

2) Camera: I don't really need one.

3) Size: It's a tad thick (my main concern)

4) Memory: More would be nice...

Does anyone know anything about those issues regarding what may be next in the NZ series? Even speculation from those familiar with how Sony releases their Clies would be appreciated.

Also, how long has PALM OS 5 been around? Is it relatively new or almost outdated.

Sorry for the newbie questions; I'm just trying to figure out what I should do.

Well Sony are now integrating WiFi as standard in all their new laptops. Surely it's just a matter of time before they do the same with the high-end Clies. But it means a bit of bulk somewhere to be able to fit it in and it means a power compromise when in use.

I would also like to see an NZ without a camera. In my opinion it would look far more attractive without it. Actually I would rather see a sub 1 megapixel camera - thinner form but still practical.

More memory is linked to your Palm OS5 question. Expect OS5.2 devices to ship very soon, this will allow Sony to pack in more memory. They have to pack in more memory! Other companies are starting to do so but whether Sony choose to do so is entirely another matter.

Everyone is hoping OS6 will launch by the end of the year. If you're thinking of buying the next high-end model then I wouldn't worry it. You're always going to be waiting for the next 'thing'.

Good luck.

Maybe I'm more concern with connectivity between current accessories with the new clie like the USB-OTG, so that the new clie can be connected to most devices with an USB port.

However, with SONY's proprietary mindset, the next clie will have some unique and non standardise with other PDA. I'll be definitely SURPRISE if the next clie comes with 'multi usage' CF slot and not just serve the WL100 wifi card.
