in my quest to find the best formula for maximum mobility, i found that the nokia communicator, despite its very useful functionality, has become obsolete because of its outdated pc suite. for anyone who is a fan of the ux50 and its formfactor, a perfect mobile solution is yet to be invented.

for the last month i have been looking for a gadget that would give me good PIM apps + SMS (short message service)... qwerty in a clamshell formfactor is what i envisioned. but, as i said since this isn't yet available, the only solution is to combine the powers of the UX50 with BT cellphone.

my question is (after a pointless introduction), Could you name a cellphone that fits the following description?
- small.
- good battery life with Bluetooth ON 24/7 (at least 24hrs light use)
- compatible with UX50 built-in SMS and contact dial features.
- Costs less than 100 bucks

thanks in advance!

if you have experience in pairing UX with cellphones, please see my other thread (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?p=728429#post728429).

Sorry to be brief - either get the new nokia communicator which should be out now - its expensive though.

Or get the Nokia 6310i - perfect for using with a UX50

I am sure a few sony ericssons are fine as well, but I hate them.

The battery life with bluetooth on with the 6310i is massive.

thanks for the advice, but the nokia 6310i is not small. i'd like something a lot smaller. about the size of the SE T610...

I really love using my t630. no problems with bluetooth ON. I cant think of any possible function that i cant use. a similar phone would be the t610 which you can find under a 100 bucks through t-mobile.

This may cause some "debate" but I use my retired T68i with my UX. Small, Compatible (driver is designed and setup right in the UX already, Good Performance (Some will argue because of internal antenna but in Wash DC market I have had no issues) Great Battery Life. and they are on ebay well below $100. If you check the Forums, the T68I will not die, it is hanging in there. It is kinda like Ericssons answer to Motos Star TAC.

I have a T616 and Moto v600 and Moto MPx200, as well as several others. Been sticking my T68i lately in my pocket, stick my Moto 810 BT Headset in my ear, and grab the UX50 and Im a happy man.

When you think about it, the T68i's function is really nothing but a Bluetooth /Wireless conduit for your UX and the Phone transceiver for the headset.

I have tested few phones and I must say that SonyEricsson t610 and t630 works perfect with the UX.
