Just out of curiosity, how often do people change their screen protector?

I had those horrible Fellows screen protectors on my old m515 and in 2 years I never changed it once, but looking at it now it is really messed up. I wonder if it was because the m515 screen was nothing special so I didn't really care how pristine the screen protector was.

I currently use the basic pack-of-12 PalmOne universal (i.e. cut it to size yourself) screen protectors that you can buy pretty much anywhere. I've had my TH55 for about 3.5 months now and I'm thinking that my screen protector could do with a change.

I use the G2 screen protector. I have had it on since April and have not changed it yet. I had a G2 on my t-615 and have not changed it in almost 2 years. They are incredible protectors...

I've had a Brando screen protector on my T615C for 2.5 to 3 years and it's still in great condition. Sure - you get some swirl marks on the graffiti area, the fact that there is little wear and tear on the protector shows how durable some of the newer protectors are.

I am an advocate of getting one of the more expensive screen protectors and taking the time and effort to put it on the screen (yep - the hassles of dirt, fluff and air bubbles) and once there - it will do an admirable job for (almost) the entire lifetime of the PDA.

I use Brando and I change my PDA more often than I change my screen protector. Actually I probably replace them around the same time, but in the past when I've gotten a new Clie and have to wait for the protector to be available and then shipped from Hong Kong, I will take the one off my previous Clie and use it until the new one arrives. Some have gotten a noticeable blur in the graffiti area after a while but never enough for it to need to be replaced. The one on my TH is still spotless after six months or so.

I use Fellowes for sony and so far i haven't replace the first one yet after 6 months.
I really think they are a very good investment.

I use the protector from glblsrc.com for about $13 and it gets scratched easily. After a couple of days it starts looking dull but I dont change it for 3 months. I read a great review of it on this site only. I wonder if its just a bad quality protector - i have just used that one

I'm on my 5th PDA in 6 years, and I never used a screen protector. Never had any scratches, either.
And, yes, I do write Grafitti (1).

What are you people doing to your screens?

Oh, wait, that's not true - I had a scratch on my Palm III once, when I gave it to my 8 year old cousin to play for some minutes....

I just love being able to poke my screen whenever I want, with my fingernail, finger, pencil eraser, stylus, whatever is handy. If I'm just looking something up and not doing a lot of writing, I usually don't even take out my stylus, I just tap with my nail. It's just nice not having to worry about wiping off smudges, not to mention getting scratches. Everything wipes right off the protector. That way I can spend more time getting heavy use out of my PDA and not tiptoeing around it for fear of damaging it.

There are also two reasons I don't start to use a new PDA until the protector is on it:
1. Because it's never too early to accidentally use the wrong tip of your multi-pen.
2. If you've never used it with the screen uncovered, you'll never know how beautiful it looks so you won't feel bad about it. :D

I have used a Martin Fields protector on my Sony since April and it is just now starting to look bad in the Grafitti area (my fault, using a ink pen cap to quickly write instead of the stylus) - I would NEVER do that without a protector on... I used Fellowes a long time ago and stopped using them once I found the one avail on the internet (like boxwave, G2's, Martin Fields, etc.) because I had to change the Fellowes at least once a month...

I've had my th since june and havent used a screen protectorI've never used a screen protector, and my first PDA (a Palm IIIxe) is still working wonderfully with NO scratches . . . . my TH is pristine.

I do have to say, I baby my electronics, though. My PDA runs my life, and I can't afford to abuse it, you know? :) I don't press on the touch screen like I'm writing with a pen or anything . . . and I don't play a lot of games.

Well, ARM protector, SJ-33 1 year 4 months, needs change, too much gaming.
ARM protector, Zire72 3 months, no scratches whatsoever.

If you get a decent protector, normally 8US$ up for 1, it will last you for a year or two if you don't play much games.
