I want to purchase Isolo, power run, handstory and various other softwares and was wondering if they come in zip file format when purchased, I need to use them at work and am not able to unzip files at work. If they do come in zip format can I purchase them at home to use on my home PC as well as at work or does that require two purchases? I have e-=mailed support but you know how that goes??? Francis

Pretty new to computers huh ;) ? - don't worry, you'll get the hang of it.

When you purchase software for handhelds it usually comes in a compressed format (Like zip or rar). Usually you download the software in a trialversion, that you later register and fully activate with a key you get from the company by email after payment.

You only pay once per handheld you use the software on - NOT for all the pc's you use.

Hope things work out for you.

Thank you for the help, I am curious why it seems that some PDA users seem annoyed by anyone who is not completely knowledgeable. I did think it through and thats why I finally came here. I was not sure if the clip service was limited to one computer but I still appreciate your help. Francis

R u sure you don't have a Unzip program at work?? ZIP is a de facto standard in industries as well as in private home- so I wonder if it is installed on your PC and you don't know, eh?!
Anyway, if you can use your Clie at work(which implies you had some software installed) than your Unzip program shouldn't be a problem..

Repli-go and Handstory are self extracting programs. They do not require unzipping.

sorry, I am a teacher and today was the walkathon I think all the bar-b-que fumes wafting in my classroom were making me paranoid. I have learned a bunch from this forum and should not be so sensitive. Yes I am sure we have a zip and I am not allowed to access it without a system admin. who is very busy. when I try to unzip at work it is set to go to the media player, very frustrating. I did purchase powerrun and e-mailed home to unzip there. It is awesome and before you critique the teachurs spelin I am an art teacher. Thanks for the help, Francis

Hi Franci!

No there's no dumb questions, dumb answers maybe :D! Naw, like anything else that's new to you, there is a learning curve. If you approach it that way, then things usually go a whole lot better.

Keep in mind that the CF driver for the Sony is rather primative compared to others used in full blown PC's. The card itself is very capable. The main issue is the myriad of variables, so one can't give absolutes. You need to get specifics from the hotel as what is needed for settings.

First you have to install the CF WLAN driver on your clie.

Under preferences, network, select Wireless LAN as service, tap on details then you'll need to give a profile name, make one up. Tap on create, select infrastructure for connect mode. Leave the WEP key blank. For the SSID, leave it blank or type in "any" without the quotes. Tap on advanced setup, check IP and DNS addresses for auto, leave powersavemode unchecked. Okay everything until you get back to the screen that has details and connect. If all goes well, the green light on the card should start flashing and in about 10 seconds it should say connected.

The next thing for you to do then, is to install email and a browser.

The most important thing of all, is have fun!

The Grouch

Sorry for the intrusion.
