Ok... I read this too on the Nokia 8910i phone:

Dual Band Operation

* EGSM 900, GSM 1800, and GSM 900/1800 dual-band networks in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Automatic switching between bands.

But there *is* GSM band phones in the USA. I happen to have one here in VA with T-Moble. So why couldn't I use this phone with my service if I bought it?

Anybody have thoughts?

Dear Chris,

There are 3 GSM bands in the wolrd: 900, 1800 and 1900.

If memory serves me right, the USA uses 1900, which is why the T-Mobile phone you have ( or AT&T phone for that matter ) won't work overseas.

There's also another issue about phones being "locked", but that's a subject for another time.

Hope it helps,
gb

Well if you guys only have the 1900mhz on the phones then they will not work on Europa but any 3 band phone (900,1800 and 1900) will work in everywhere in the world (GSM Coverage area)
İf its 'locked' by your carrier its not a big deal just a flash op more than enough ;)
Btw: Nokia 8910i is not a very nice phone.(I am not talking about the design)
