You do realise that you are trying to resize from a landscape resolution (1024x768) to a portrait resolution (320x480)? The aspect ratios are also different.

On Mac/Linux I use ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org) - it's open source. I've never used it under Windows though.

Does Image Converter, which comes with your TH55, not do what you want?

Another choice, if you have XP, is the free Image Resizer from Microsoft. It's one of the PowerToys. Just download from their web site.

IfranView (http://irfanview.com/) is one I've seen recommended before. As pointed out above, they have different aspect ratios... so you'll have to resize AND crop.

Good Afternoon-

I agree, Irfanview is the best freeware option.

If you have WinXP, search for the "Image Resizer" powertoy. Adds a context menu that allows you to resize images to commonly used sizes or a custom size. Will handle batch resizes (I can resize 200 pix in about 4 minutes) and adds in one of the best JPG compression algorithms I've ever used. A Google search should pull it up immediately. It's a "sub-meg" download and installs in 30 seconds. Tremendously helpful. You can even resize an image to the same dimensions and it'll just compress it for you. There's also an option to resize the original or create copies...

Glad to help. Personally, one of my favorite "applets" after TweakUI :)

You know you can also batch-rename in XP? Select a bunch of files, rename the first one and Windows will rename all the others with the same name and then append a number "(1)", "(2)", etc. Just wish it would sort (2) before (11) OR use (02), etc. The Picture viewer that comes with Office 2003 has an even more robust renaming utility, though, that I use constantly. Great for when I come back form vacation with 500 pics named "IMG_xxxx" :D ...

It can also be done using the stretch/skew command in good ol' Windows Paint.

Haven't used IRFAN since I bought ACDSee, but it should allow you to rotate before resizing so you don't have to distort or crop the picture.

No, as mentioned above, you'll have to crop the images. The aspect ratios are not the same.
