What's so special about his picture? It's a nice child but the picture quality is nothing really special. Comparison: Here are two pictures of my appartment (after a little party). Left Originals, Right filtered (PSP7)

Oh and my opinion about the whole thing:
1. It's almost certainly a real Clié picture.
2. Enhancing a picture is allowed as long as you tell
3. Who cares? And why the heck do I care? (for the cute baby maybe)

lkim nice pic. I have noticed that using the camera if you have correct settings and under the right conditions the camera does pretty damn good. I also noticed with using zoom going to x2 the quality degrades alot. I took a few pics yesterday in the snow and some turned out really nice and others look like crap.

LKim,

I'm not getting any link or picture of the original? Was it removed?

hansschmucker,

I have no problem believeing those pictures (even the reduces size ones you modifed) were originally produced with the NX. They are only about as good as I've been able to get. The NX doesn't take the sharpest pictures even in the best lighted conditions, and that's why I am curious to see the original from lkim. The modified one just seem too sharp to be from the NX.

For some reason, my images have ceased to post (I'm using the "Attach file:" dialog box to select an image but the images aren't posting). Sorry for the delay in my response - I've been traveling on business.

To get around the image posting problem, I've uploaded a comparison of the original and modified Clie photo here:

"picasosz" if my user name and signature are that much of an indication regarding my alleged virgin status in your eyes, then one could only wonder if ever in your life you had even so much as heard rumors about the vagina much less actually been in one. aside from the one your mommy farted you out from that is. what with your over 500 posts on this board alone in barely 2 months! that avarages um... 6 post per day!? tons of spare time anyone? haha! not to mention you hailing from the "twilight zone" and all, cool guy. do they even have females there? you're right, i'm the virgin, your message board credentials and vital stats just scream "babe magent". place sarcasm here ______.
nice try lamer.

lkim,

Thanks! (NX fingerpring seemed OK to me) What kind of lighting did you have when you took the original? It appears to me that NXs camera just does not have what it takes most of the time to get by on normal indoor lighting. It probably a big reason why they added the flash for the NZ series. I've tried to take pictures of furniture and lamps, etc. while out shopping for new living room furniture, but the results from inside most stores gave a very yellow tinge, and usually not very well focused compared to what a stand alone digital camera would do w/o a flash.

Oh, that was my just post above... forgot to log in....:D

On a different note regarding your difficulty posting the pics...
It seemed strange that in your original post that I saw a couple of days ago, the picutre showed up inline with the post itself. I'm on a different computer now, but all the picutres seem to be showing up as links instead. It that due to the fact that the original inline picture was changed to a link, or does it have to do with a setting (cookie) that is set differently for my two systems?

The photo was taken in a bathroom lit by incandescent bulbs. I agree, 'normal' indoor lighting does result in dim, flat images. Some guesses on why this is so:

1. Lens opening is very, very small - like a pinhole camera - and does not allow a lot of light in.
2. Sony limits how slow the 'shutter' speed falls for low light levels so as to minimize blurring. I've noticed with my Nikon digital camera, in similar lighting conditions, images are more blurred from normal camera movement and apparently a slow shutter speed (less than 1/15 sec). However these images seemed properly exposed - good color saturation, brightness and contrast.
