I am leaving for a business trip in exactly two weeks and I was hoping to have Wi-Fi avaialble while I am away.I ordered it on 10/4 and got it 10/11. It works very well, but it uses the battery. At the same time, I am able to get more work done during the limited time I have WiFi than the extended time I have using Bluetooth. I basically purchased it in hopes of using it with my T5 that I ordered. I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Lance

I recieved my Palm1 card yesterday (orded this week thanks Lance!!). Of course I ran out to my local Panera bread this evening since I do not have an at home Network.
My T3 found the Panera network and I had great signal strength, but I could not get webpro to show any web pages. Am I missing something simple? I downloaded the drives off of the CD. And yes I switched the Prefences from bluetooth to WiFi. When I opened up Webpro after a reset the "turn on" WiFi dialog box came on and then it proceded to tell me it was logging on to Panera but again no web pages

Go to Preferences -> Wi-Fi. Does it show that it connects? If so, click on 'Info' to make sure you are getting an IP address, etc. In addition, you might make sure you do not have encryption or something setup on your wireless network that would keep it from working. Anyway, just a few things to check.
Best regards,
Lance
By the way, the Wi-Fi card supports WEP encryption.

Thanks for responding as always Lance. Unfotunately I checked those things while at Panera bread. While looking through Palmone's site I noticed that my proxy was set to webpro.palm.com and Port 0. The proxy on the palm1 website was webpro.palmone.com Port 8827. I made the change but honestly being a little out of my comfort zone (the field of Genetics at least clinical Genetics seems to shun technology) I am not sure if this would make a difference.
I will try it tomorrow and if it seems to help I will be happy to report back in case anyone else runs into a similar problem.

I wonder if the proxy will work or if Panera limits what ports the users can use. I tried connecting a Panera around work with my iPAQ and failed. I tried one by my last house and it worked. Strange. I'd like to here people's reports on the thing. I already have a power sled, but have held off on the wi-fi card until funds present themselves.

Im not sure how web pro works, but in many restaurant networks, there is a home page that displays before anything else. It messes up non-browser traffic, but a browser such as web-pro should show pages such as this. It will not let things such as avantgo sync, when you have not first launched the browser. Also, there are other things pertaining to the panera router that could cause problems. Some routers just dont play well with handheld devices.

I have only tried the Palm1 card at a Panera bread so far. Today I was able to connect to the Panera network just fine, but I recieved the dreaded DNS error message everytime webpro attempted to open up a webpage. Back to the drawing board. So far I have checked the major boards (1src, PIC and brighthand) without seeing a simple answer to the problem. Those members who have a T3 and succesfully use the Palm1 card should chime in just to give the rest of us some hope.
I guess the notion that everything was going to work smoothly is expecting just a tad too much

My PalmOne Wifi card works like a dream. Granted, it does drain the battery, but 20-25 mins of browsing took only 13% power, which is better than I expected. That's probably about as much as I do in a day. Granted, I have the brightness turned down to just above minimum, beam receive is turned off, and I'm underclocking to 200MHz with PXA Clocker.
At times, it seems to get better range than my old NX73V with WL110 did. There is a computer lab down the hall from one of my classrooms, and I can access with my PalmOne card. I couldn't do that with my WL110.
To get onto your network, you just select your network from a list of networks in range. It shows SSID and signal strength for each one, and it's just a matter of selecting your network.
I would definitely recommend it.

Well I finally have my Palm1 Wifi card working. I followed the advice of a brighthand thread and did a complete hard reset. I installed the PIM databases, WiFi software and a few essential apps (like G1, Areoplayer and MMplayer which would not be worth giving up for WiFi) and WiFi worked!!! Now I just have to figure out what is interfereing with the card. I assume it is a small (ie seldom used app) since few people have reported problems. My guess is one of the medical apps (I work in Ob and Genetics).
Of course now my datebook alarms are not working until my Palm is turned on!!! I am starting to miss my T1 -- OK I would not give up my T3 but these are still frustrating problems. I don't think I would have the patience to put up with the T5 <as he constantly pats himself on the back for passing on the T5 for the T3 + WiFi card for $2 less>
