Wellm updated mine and tried again, now blazer tells me "verhandle" that's german for "negotiating" and nothing more happens. after about 30 secs. it tells me timed out...
all my settings are right.
but the problem with the connection is gone.
THNX igor_n & NiTeSHiFT for that info.
I have waited for that since about a year, when I just went for it and bought 6600, my first BT phone. I was naively thinking that all it takes was BT on my TT + BT on 6600, and I'd be able to surf and check the mail. The hell I was...
Still, I am somewhat cautios, 'cause in PIC forums they have said that not allowing the 6600 to keep up "outside initiated" GPRS connection is the way Nokia wanted it. Don't know if this was true, don't know if they have changed their minds.
Can you and anybody please confirm that this has really happened and that 5.27.0 allows GPRS over BT with a Palm?
(Well, I do believe your posts, igor_n & NiTeSHiFT, but you know, in some countries it just might be a bit too difficult to get a FW update just for the sake of curiosity, only to find out that the dream didn't come true. So SRY, but that's why I'm asking. Don't hit me.)
THNX alot.

At least my 6600 became usable with nx60 over bt stick ;-) . Previous shaman dances with 4.x firmware take no result. After re-flashing it works at first attempt.
Device can be reflashed at nokia service centres only. No custom cables.
Thnx, igor_n for that!
Will definitely look where I could get the update.

It now definitely works. I can surf the web with xiino over my wap-flatrate :-) that really rocks, although xiino doesn't use hires or hires+. But no other browser works...

NetFront works too
really? that would be great. tested blazer, webpro, webuniverse, xiino and another one which always crashed. none worked except xiino.
will try netfront again. used it on my clie, now i have a tungsten t3.

THNX, NiTeSHiFT!
although it seems a bit odd for me that if nokia's 5.27 allows "outside initiated" (don't know if this is a good term) gprs connection now, that it does so not for each connection. then again, with my old m505 and nokia 8310 i actually used only webpro, as far as i can remember. that did work ok, but it was over ir back then.
anyway, i'm waiting for this reflash.
thnx

Well, for me it's a little late now. I have the 6600 since August 2003 and plan to buy a Treo 650 next weeks. Then I won't need BT for such actions as surfing anymore;-)

good for you :D
i for that matter have considered treo 650 seriously, but currently still waiting for what the first cobalt would look like ...
the one thing i can't figure out is that while it should be great to surf and mail on palmfone, it is also good to know that extensive use of pda's offline functions will not deplete the phones battery and i can still be connected even if palm is dead flat. and vice versa - i can still use the pda, if the phone battery is out.
that's what keeps me in "two separate gadgets" ranks but to each its own
thnx for your help, i'll be getting the reflash tomorrow

No wonder :( I've been having problems to have set up GPRS for the N6600 and my client's T3. No wonder! Blargh!

treo 650 is much better than nokia 6600 !
palm os system, much better than symbian os
1.3 mega-pixel camera
320x320 SCREEN !
phone, bluetooth
...so this will be my phone !
hey, igor_n,
i've seen you in an another palm forum as well, but as that seems to be offline now, maybe you are reading this thread here and can (once more) help me out.
i have now the new firmware, but because of all the hocus-pocus i have done to get the earlier version working, by now i have lost all possible scripts and instructions. in some of your posting i have noticed however a link to some instructions that you have posted on web regarding how exactly to connect the 6600 and tungsten. would you please care to either post the links here or to post separate suggestions here? i would make a real low bow (nizkij poklon) here on my side ;-)
thnx
