I have been a Pocket PC user for 3 years (Compaq /HP) with great results and I got convinced to change into Clie TH55, which is great so far...
First of all I good like to thanks all you guys .. I have learned a lot reading the forums!!
kwoning there a lot of experts, please could you help me with the next problem:

I synchronized my clie peg TH55 with outlook (using Intellisync), I never found the filter in order to synchronized all the Date (filter was set for "only future dates") so I change my Desktop PC and Clie dates for a three years ago date and it works... I get all the dates info in my Clie. When I set the real date on both (desktop and laptop) after the hotsync it seems
like the dates on my clie were going to get erased so I click on the "re-sync" option.
All the data stays.

The problem is that actually when I try to use the clie organizer date book the clie "thinks" (freeze) in a white page. For example if I want to change view 1day to a week view on the clie org date book it takes 7-9 seconds of the white screen!!! , and all the applications are slow in the clie organizer, specially in the date book.
If I use the palm date book the speed is OK .

I don't know if changing dates generate this problem or maybe there is a corrupt date or maybe the space of the date data is to big for the clie organizer view?? why only on the clie organizer view?? Palm views are Ok.
My dates space on the clie is: 1350 K Or this is the normal speed of the CO??

In resume it impossible to work in any clie PIM application because its get to slow with
the white page (7-9 seconds while thinking)... so I'm force to work only on the Palm applications which are OK but have less options than my old PDA or buy a third party PIM applic.

I have tried some things in order to solve the problem: I have uninstalled all the clie/ palm applications in my desktop => syncro everything... I get all the info in the clie organizer for PC.
I made a hard reset on my clie and syncro again. But the problem in the clie PIM applications remains.
The worst speed is changing to the week view in the clie date book. Like
said before in all the palm date views the speed is great.

And the worst part is that after a soft reset i takes 30 - 40 seconds until I get the date configure screen.
I contact Clie support, but the support wwas not to good.

Do you have any software that can revise my date data looking for a problem that makes the clie organizer applications thinks so much time?? Or any comment / support is welcome.

Thanks in advance for your support.

To answer you Intellisync question: run IS configure, click on DateBook, click Advanced, select the "Date Range" tab (if not already selected), and then pick what you want.

The TH55 is a little slow, I've found. Whereas my NX73 would come back from a soft reset very quickly, I too get a white screen for a few seconds. As far as CO goes, I'm not sure if that's your problem or you have something else. You say you DATEBOOK.PDB is 1350K (approx 1.3M). While not huge, that's big. I've kept several years of back dates in mine and it's only 172K. That said, I also get a pause when switching views.

Personally, I don't use the CO much. I've been tempted, but I just can't leave DateBk5. Right now, I'm only using CO for FreeNotes and Memo.

I don't trust CO. I found it slow too. I presume you have no other apps installed that may be affecting performance? The excellent palminternals [do a search here] has a speed test function to diagnose such problems. How does Picsel viewer run? [it's seems like a common application to be affected by speed problems]. Do you have a lot of apps. installed? How much free ram do you have??

Squeff, m8rk THANKS for the quick response!!
Ok I think I will only use the CO for the viewer (I think the CO viewer is better than the normal Clie viewer),

and what about using Agendus??

memory free: in handheld: 4.5 MB of system memory / 17.1 MB free of program memory
memory stick: 122.4 MB (from a 256 MS)
I´m using a memory stick pro, wich is better?? (vs. a normal Memory stick??)
I think I will buy a normal one in order to use a floppy disk I have for normal MS and download the videos I rec on the TH55.
I have not found a better way to download my videos to my desktop than sending them (WiFi mail) to my desktop.
How can I download things to my desktop??. I need something like the export to MS but an import (to desktop).
Picsel viewer run OK

I will try the speed test,
Thanks again!! I will try to learn as fast as I can in order to help someone if possible. This Forum is great.

Give Agendus a try. Some like it better than DateBk5, some like it less. My advice is to try both and see which one works better for you. (Note to others: please do NOT start the Agendus vs. DateBk5 argument here).

There are several types of Memory Sticks: Regular, MagicGate, Pro, Duo,... The main difference between regular and pro is the maximum size. In other words, depending on the size stick you get, it'll either be a regular or a pro. I believe Pro also supports the MagicGate format, which deals (mainly) with protected music. In general, you needn't worry about this.

You can "mount" a Memory Stick as a drive on your PC. After you install the software from the CD, just tap the MS icon on the TH55's toolbar and say "PC Link." You'll get a new drive letter on your PC. MS Export is bi-directional.

Ok I will try agendus and datebk5...

Innocent question: how often my MS information can get erased?? MS corrupted?? for example If I treat properly my MS (always inside my PDA) or in a case.. can It get damage because of to much use???

Thanks a lot for the tip for PC link and MS Export!!

Do you use a launcher CGS? I found the default Clie setup to be frustratingly slow. And although ZLauncher is ram hungry I found that it made my device that much quicker to load and to launch applications. [other launchers may do the same it's just that I found ZL first and liked it].

M8rk,
No, I will try ZLauncher and let you know how it goes...
but the problem of speed is only with my calendar on CO and after a softreset, not when oppening the rest of the applications
