Facer 1.6.1

I just noticed an update to the ever improving Facer launcher.
I think this launcher is very good but doesn't seem to get it's due here. Sure, ZL, YiShow et al are all very good launchers for different reasons. I won't argue with that. But, I am from the less is more camp and Facer delivers. If your looking for a launcher that integrates well with Agendus/Datebk for a Today page, Facer is your only option. I suppose you could use Wassup or Today for this but thats just another 300K. By the time you add it up I' figure I'm saving aroung 1.5M of RAM.

Plus, it's easy to skin and the support is good.

I use ZL for its launcher abilities but I use facer solely for its today page.

Facer is a kool program [but it seems like i say that way too much over here at CS ;)

This new version [if it works well for you] seems to be much faster, and there was probably some internal fixes going on. So far nothing has been released on the website abuot it; but if you stay tuned to it you would eventually find something out. Either that or email PC and see about getting an answer.

that kinda sucks that i wasnt registered for that last post; but oh well. I'd say try Facer only when you can find out what has been updated in this release.

The difference I noticed today between 1.6 and 1.6.1 was that in the former, the appointment/todo details pop-up window was all mucked up. It works OK in 1.6.1, though.

The REAL trick was to get the Facer_1.5.7_Pro_Full.zip file from the 'PalmGear' link from the developer's site. It contains Facer 1.6.1, where the Facer_1.6.1_Pro_Full.zip file from PalmGear contains 1.6, not 1.6.1.

Ah, the joys of mis-named archive files!!

I have been looking for a new launcher program, I believe I may fall in the Facer camp because I hate bulky programs that take forever to load. I don't want a file manager, I have enough things going on in my life... (I had a palm Vx with silverscrren, what was the point in that program?) What I want is an excellent summary screen like Facer. It this the best program for that?

I was impressed by the demo. Is this a worthwile product to purchase? Is so where is the best place to buy?

I have to add my support and kudos for Facer too. I agree with Pixelpainter - it is light, has good features that I really use, and is pretty easy to make skins for (I just started playing around with this). I highly recommend it!

Wow - I see a HUGE increase in speed with 1.6.1! Much faster on my T665! Also I like the following:
1) Recent app list "floats" in the center right of the screen instead of just popping up from the bottom right
2) Under preferences you can now clear the recent apps list

NJL!2016 - Try the FaceMaker beta and make your own themes! I have only made a couple so far (for HiRes color OS4) but it is pretty easy to do.
