Hello! If I have *.MQV file only, how can I have the *.MAI. The reason is the moive cannot be played on the clie if *.MAI is missing. Please help!!!!

i think the .MAI file is the file that is displayed in clie movie viewer. even if you directly drop a movie into the movie folder, the .MAI file is still needed; otherwise, you won't see the movie on your list. It took me a few experiments to figure this out, it looks like the only way to see it correctly is to use the image converter or some equivalent to move the movie onto the stick. The good news is that the image converter does shrink the size of the file somwhat; I was able to DL two and1 movies onto one stick at high quality! (250 MB each)

I'm not sure why your not getting movies to display without the .MAI files. I have none on my Clie and all the movies play fine. I just can't use the thumbnail view.

MAI is an information file for movies.
Did you look in the /Palm/Programs/MoviePlayer/100mqv01 folder? That's where the MAI's are.

You don't need the MAI files. They are just the thumbnails. I just recorded one vid and went to the directory deleting every *.MAI. now started movie player again and the thumbnails were gone, but i could play the videos as ususal. nothing special happenede besides the thumbnails are gone.
