Been trying to connect my NZ with my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. BT Places shows a PDA icon and a connection attempt but they never make it. Then I get an error message on the NZ saying the connection didn't happen -- dah.... The other dah is I don't even know how to go about looking to see what's wrong. Any help would be appreciated. I'm using a Belkin BT Card. HotSync (full version) is installed.
Thanks.

Just got my bluetooth setup to work. What I had to do was go to the hotsync icon, unselect local usb, select local serial, and then proceed to the hotsync setup menu and click on the local tab.. there you choose the appropriate COM port (mine was 5, your bluetooth setup should tell you which serial port).. then you should be set.

A question for you - is BT sync faster than USB sync?

No it's not. It's a little slower than syncing through with cradle.

I'm using a Inspiron 8200 also. Are you using the Belkin adaptor? It's port 5.....(on mine)....it took my hours to figure it out...but if you need to check, look here:
click on the the bluetooth icon, and go to Bluetooth, device configuration, look for Bluetooth serial port and scroll to the right, it will tell you which port you are using....then adjust Hotsync manager (serial) to port 5...I hope this helps...if you need more details let me know.
ps - it's really cool when it works, it's not as slow as you would expect and I like the 'cool' factor...
it's all about getting that serial port selected correctly in Hotsync Manager after you identify which one it is.
On my Insprion, I installed it in the bottom PCMCIA slot.
Hope this helps.

I can't seem to find the "Device Configuartion" screen. How do you get to that?
Thanks

I changed the Com port to 5 and it synced right up! My first consideration with using BT is not speed -- it's wireless connection for a headset. I use Dragon VRS and am going to try a Plantronics BT headset to dictate into my laptop.
I also am searching for the best way to get MSOutlook stuff onto my laptop. There hasn't been a very good way so I thought BT via the NZ90 would be a good shot. I decided to sync to Palm Desktop on the laptop which got all my contacts, etc., and I am also trying WINAgendus. I love Agendus for Palm on the Clie.
My next thing will be a BT phone. I haven't seen the definitive word on the best unit to invest in there.
Again, thanks for your input that got me up and running!

Thank you "minhaferzz"! FINALLY somebody that spoke clear English. Didn't know I had to unselect USB in hotsync. Anyway, got it working under your advice. Thanks again! :)
